laundry help please

Recommended Posts

Dishwasher soap/powder - be careful and read the side label, some contain bleach so you may need to "pre-disolve." Works best if it contains phosphates, no green lectures please.

ETA: Dishwasher soap works because it is low sudding, unlike Dawn or shampoo which have the potential to create Lucille Ball type bubbles.

The homemade detergent I make is washing soda, borax and grated bar soap, using 2 parts bar soap to 1 part each soda and borax. I use about a 1/4 cup of the mixture per load.

In a pinch I might substitute the washing soda for baking soda, and Oxy Clean (if you have it) or white vinegar for the borax, with whatever bar (or dish) soap I have on hand.
