A few that I have enjoyed in the past include Dietrich Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas, The Heavenly Man by Brother Yun, Oswald Chamber's biography, and God's Smuggler about Brother Andrew. Any other recommendations? I'm open to Christians of various denominations and periods in history, just nothing terribly gory or sensationalized (or overspiritualized where the people come across as unhuman and practically perfect). mandymom Posted March 17, 2011 Share Posted March 17, 2011 Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore is an excellent autobiography of two men from completely different walks of life (one a wealthy art dealer and the other a homeless man) who befriend each other. A Severe Mercy by Sheldon Vanauken is written by a man who knew C.S. Lewis. It's the author's love story. Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala is the story of the Brooklyn Tabernacle.
