lovetobehome
I am looking for a 3rd grade SCIENCE that is no fuss, not taking lots of time, but covering the basics that would be expected of a third grader on standardized tests. Any suggestions? My daughter tested poorly and I know it doesn't *REALLY* matter, but I want her to know what an average third grader knows. THANKS! I found the Complete Book of Science for grades 5-6, but I don't think they have one for 3-4 grade, or at least I am not seeing it. ETA- I somehow wrote MATH in the subject line earlier. I MEANT SCIENCE! Looking for science help, not math. Whew! __________________
shinyhappypeople
McRuffy Science? ETA: Also, look into K12. It might fit the bill. A lot depends on what your particular state's standards are. Edited January 28, 2011 by shinyhappypeople
LynnG in Arizona
I second McRuffy. Sounds like just what you're looking for. :)
wy_kid_wrangler04
To be honest, I would follow this list and use good quality non-fiction library books.
Dmmetler
There's a complete book of science 3-4, too. I haven't used it yet, but I like others in the series.

Pata
You can get a Harcourt Science text on eBay for less than $5. Our local school system uses them, so they probably align with the "standards". My guess is you could cover all of it in less than a month. Medieval Mom
Spectrum also has a line of science worktexts.
