mcconnellboys
For the logic stage arguer, it's "actually"..... Actually, it's *this* way, Mother.... Actually, that is *not* how you do it..... Actually, actually, that's all I hear all day long! Thank goodness my older son has gone back to school, because when he gets home, he adds to this cacophony the rhetoric stage equivalent of "Technically".... Technically, we lost the Vietnam war, Mother. Yes, son we studied that when you were home (he has no recollection of what he did with me - it's only fact if he learns it from someone else). Technically, I won that round..... Technically, technically, actually technically, technically actually...... Arrrrgggghhhhh! Summer is coming. HOW am I going to make it through summer??? Earplugs! I'll invest in a great pair of earplugs. Then I can just smile and mumble, ummm-hmmmm as they regale me with all the technical actualities of the world..... Remudamom
Stick in those earplugs and just smile and wave mom. Smile and wave.
Mom2legomaniacs
Oh no. Mine have already been doing these for a while now and are both in grammar stage. I am really doomed aren't I? Tell you what. We'll meet up and let the kids actually and technically each other while you and I hang out!
Carol in Cal.
Actually... and What EV er. The second comes in when the most common speaker of the first is either a) bested in an argument (the horror!) or b) told to just do it and stop arguing about it. Rhetoric is going to be tough. I'm not there yet.

elegantlion
Oh Goodness. My ds' favorite word in Kindergarten was "Actually". He was in private school and his teacher commented on his usage of it several times. Of course, he's had an opinion on everything since he was born. Robin in Tx
Logic stage dd here... I'm actually right there with you. We're not technically at the rhetoric stage yet but I imagine you will actually be right about that, too! LOL
