MotherGoose
I am sure Moon Sand is a wonderful modeling toy, BUT, it's a MESS! I guess I somehow missed the "Sand" part of the name, but I recommend that you do not get it for your children unless they are old enough to really clean up behind themselves...teenagers maybe? :001_smile: I swept the floor about 3 times cleaning up the debris so my 4 yo (who was being careful) didn't run out, and then vacuumed (sp) twice. And that was on hardwoods. Fair warning...it's like bringing beach sand in your house and letting your kid play with it! :001_smile:
babysparkler
Oh my... I left the kids under dh's supervision for 1 hour a couple years ago and I am STILL finding moon sand in books. :glare:
mommaduck
Oh boy! My friend is going to hate me then; I just bought her son a set for Christmas.
Punchie
Personally, I prefer moon sand to playdoh. Mainly b/c DD can play w/it in our living room (carpet) and it is insanely easy to vacuum up.
thescrappyhomeschooler
Moon sand is definitely an outside thing! I had moon sand in various crevices and stuck to my vacuum for many months after one episode of playing with it!
Celia
When I saw how messy it was I gave it away!
OrganicAnn
Ours came with a little plastic play mate that was supposed to contain the mess. Do Not Believe It. It will still make a mess. But it is kinda fun to play with.
Guest
LOL! My mom bought Moon Dough and Moon Sand for my kids, and they love it. It is messy, but so easy to clean up. I just have them play with it in the kitchen and then I just sweep up or vacuum any that gets on the floor. They did get some on the carpet, once, and it vacuumed up easily... no big deal. At least it doesn't stick like playdough. I say let the kiddies have fun! :tongue_smilie:
Quad Shot Academy
It got under my kitchen chairs and horribly scratched the floors and the magic gliders.

Even then, I hate getting it out. That's one of the few reasons I'm glad it's cold outside right now. The moon sand won't come out until late spring. :001_smile:
Denisemomof4
I'm too old to be dealing with moon sand or playdoh. We use playfoam. We use it like playdoh, use it in cookware to make muffins and cakes, etc. I *LOVE* it. http://www.amazon.com/Educational-Insights-1805-Playfoam/dp/B000EREGRM It's more like playdoh but with NO mess. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff as do dd's.

NOPE....stinking Moon Sand...it got wet and mushed into the rug and even with oxyclean and immediate shampooing, it stained. Hate the stuff!
