Violet Crown
Let's see if this request runs to 12+ pages.;) Does anyone know of a good version of El Cid? Archaic Pyle-like language is fine. Out-of-print is also fine.

mcconnellboys
I'm sorry, but I don't know what you mean by "no grammar content".... Geraldine McCaughrean has a nice version of El Cid, but do you mean that you don't want a picture book version? Her language is not overly simplified.... Violet Crown
I'm sorry, but I don't know what you mean by "no grammar content"....A weak attempt at humor, having spawned a 17+ page thread with my last OP. The McCaughrean book sounds like a winner.
Ibbygirl
Oh I would be curious to read that book too just for my own edification. I've only ever read El Cid in Spanish. I love that story though. It's one of my favorites since I was small. I'd be curious to see how it translates into English.

I thought you meant you wanted no grammar content in the book, but you meant in the thread! I couldn't figure it out. Duh. Feeling stupid now.
