LauraGB
Want to watch this tonight. I read the run-down of "+13" on Netflix. Nonplussed by the description - is there anything highly questionable for 11-almost-12-year-olds? Thanks
Mrs Mungo
I have not seen it, but this synopsis looks useful: http://www.parentpreviews.com/movie-reviews/dear-john/
shannatheshedevil
Not really. Then agan, I hated that movie (and book) so much, I feel it's not appropriate for anyone.

Mmmmm...okay (my family is getting pjs on and I'm supposed to be popping corn, but I'm dying to know :)) Why? Bad story ala Nicholas Sparks or just total junk? (this is for my benefit now, not the dc)
Julie in CA
Maybe this will help? http://www.pluggedin.com/videos/2010/q2/dearjohn.aspx
ChristusG
I love this site....it tells every single questionable thing there could be in a movie. Here's the one for Dear John: http://www.kids-in-mind.com/d/dearjohn.htm
LauraGB
Not really. Oh. I get it now. We just finished. I must say, though, that while there was nothing totally un-11 year old in it, I might just watch it again on my own. I hunkered down, fully ready for a Nicholas Sparks story (and knowing what that meant), and between dd calling every formula before it happened (and beating me on the uptake because I was trying to submerge myself in the story :glare:), and ds pausing it about 7/8 of the way through and saying "I don't get it," (:lol::lol:) I feel somehow left wanting. Nestof3
I loved the movie, but I wouldn't have my 11 year old watch it. Just my personal opinion.
Slartibartfast
I hate Nicholas Sparks, I hate crying books/movies
Jean in Newcastle
I would think it would be boring. So much of those stories are based on emotions, not action and a definable plot.
