springmama
I want to find recipes for meals that I can assemble in large ziploc bags, then dump into the crockpot in the mornings. Has anyone done this? If so, I'd love to know some recipes.

mrs.m
http://www.nancyskitchen.com/2009September/dump-chicken-recipes.html I have used many of these recipes for pork too! You can do this with many soups that don't contain pasta or that you plan to add in the pasta late in the cooking process. If it is a cream base soup, I suggest leaving out the cream until close to the end or substituting evaporated milk.
Tracy in Ky
Really just about any casserole dish you can do this with I think. I do it both with cream-based dishes and pasta dishes as well. Just use whole wheat pasta but undercook it a little before you freeze the dish. I do it with precooked rice dishes too--I use brown rice. :)
Dobela
I mostly do it with meats. I divde the meat into meal servings and then put in any marinade or flavoring that I like. Freeze, and then dump in. Be careful with the freeze part LOL. I made all of my packaging flat once and of course my crock pot is round. I had to thaw before putting in the crockpot which kind of defeated the purpose. If you go to http://www.welltrainedmind.com/forums/group.php?groupid=69 I have posted some chicken dump recipes there that I have used. VA6336
Yesterday we made chicken wings in the CrockPot. Night before I made some hoisin sauce (you could make just about any kind of sauce-took about 5 minutes) and that morning I dumped the 4.5 lb bag of frozen chicken wings and the roughly 1/2 cup of sauce into the Crock, cooked on low for 7 hours, high for 30 minutes and voila: chicken wings. :)
DarlaS
I bet this would be a great way to do meatloaf. I can throw a frozen beef roast in in the morning and it comes out fine.
