funschooler5
Here are some of ours: The Wizard of Oz I've read this 3 times aloud over the years and the kids love it. We have the edition beautifully illustrated by Michael Hague (it's unabridged). The Not-Just Anybody Family Funny and touching, with great characters Homer Price DS *loved* this story. Each chapter is almost like reading a complete story, because each one comes to a conclusion at the end Edited May 11, 2010 by funschooler5 left words out :)
SophiaH
Absolute favorite is Heidi. The unedited version. Had never read it as a child, and absolutely loved it when I read it to dd a couple of years ago!

Snowfall
The Little House series! I still have my boxed set from childhood and I read the whole thing to DD starting around her 4th birthday. She spent a lot of time after that playing with the tube from a roll of wrapping paper, pretending it was her gun (she was Pa) and "shooting" things by poking them with it.

MelanieM
We're reading The Lightening Thief right now and we all love it! My kids couldn't get enough the first day and I ended up reading them over 100 pages! It has sparked a lot of great discussion and play, and the kids are super excited about our Ancient Greek studies now as well.
