RitaWH
Can anyone recommend spelling programs that use British English spellings? Mainly for use after OPGTR, but I am also interested in something for my 13 yr old too. Many thanks :) Edited April 18, 2010 by RitaWH
Susie in CA
Galore Park English might work for you. It is a full English program, not just spelling. Galore Park is a british company so the spelling is british. Susie
HSMom2One
Spelling Power includes British spelling of English along side American English throughout the program. I also love SP because I don't have to buy a new book every year - it's a full curriculum in one TM. Blessings, Lucinda
Matryoshka
Isn't Apples and Pears a British program? Hey, they even spell it "programme". :D
Laura Corin
Many primary schools have them. I use the spelling suggestions in the Galore Park English books too. The BBC also has some spelling games. In addition there are National Curriculum lists here. For Calvin I use a list of commonly misspelled words. min
I've adapted All About Spelling for Australian spelling which as far as I know is the same as British spelling. (I've adapted the first four levels.) If anyone wants the adaptations I'm happy to pass them on. Some rule breakers in AAS like "was" are not rule breakers in our English, which is nice! plain jane
Spalding (WRTR) makes note of both spellings in their lists.
