5knights3maidens
Does anyone have a craft using ties? I know there is one by making fish (I instead used envelopes.) I need something for a 6th grade boy and 6 and 4 yr. old girls. I have about 12. Thanks in advance for any help. :001_smile:

mrsrevmeg
You might be able to make a skirt out of the ties for one of the girls.
rosehaven
would the children be interested in weaving them as in a placemat type pattern then adding a border around the entire area to create a flag? Blessings

Jane in NC
Here is a sewing craft. Maybe not for four year olds, but certain older children could sew this.
lynn
I thought this was an interesting use of old ties. http://www.marthastewart.com/article/silk-tie-easter-eggs I tried it with regular ties, not just silk ties and although the print did not transfer as well it still worked. Cinder
You can make some pretty cool snakes with ties! I just saw this in the book Craft Fun. This book is OOP but maybe your library has it. Basically you use fabric glue to glue shut the small end. Then stuff it with fiberfill. Glue the end shut but leave the triangular portion of the end unglued. You can then flip this part back and add googly eyes and a felt tongue. That's it! Enjoy, Cinder
Tap
I have seen really cute couch pillows and a step stool covered in ties sewn together. These were both in a den, and they looked great. I don't think I would match my living room decor but it could be cute in the right room.
