SquirrellyMama
It's horrid! I refuse to listen to it. Same with Walking Her Home. :iagree: I don't like either of these songs. I do not like songs that were written to make you cry.
Tangerine
That's from 1944-- the most they do in the lyrics is hold hands. Such dirty minds. Make it worth your while baby Ahh, do that again... He must have been a REALLY good hand holder.
Jean too
No, you are not the only one. I turn the radio OFF as soon as that sappy drivel comes on.

Rhonda in TX
Then he lost his daughter. Now I cry every time I hear it. Christmas Shoes, though? Blech. It feels totally contrived.
katemary63
I Same with Walking Her Home. What's wrong with this one?? I like it. It's not at all contrived like the stupid Christmas Shoes. This is just a story that could very well be true and is an acurate image of the king of relationship I have with DH and hope to have at the end or our lives. There's nothing wrong with crying over a beautiful image of true love. I thought of The Notebook when I heard this song. It think it's touching. TBW: After we watched The Notebook together, my normally silent, tough guy husband waited till it was dark and we were cuddling in bed to whisper in my ear, "I will read to you." Ooops, there goes the faucet. I think he will "walk me home" too. :) Edited November 30, 2009 by katemary63
