gandpsmommy
My 8yo dd loves Webkinz and Littlest Pet Shop. That's usually what she asks for and buys for her friends. She also likes purses and small bags (especially if it has a monkey, butterfly, hearts, or peace signs on it), cute socks, headbands and barettes. She also likes things like miniature bottles of lotion and shower gel from Bath & Body works. She really enjoys reading American Girl magazine, too. Does the 8yo little girl have any special interests? My dd is a gymnast, so she would enjoy getting a new leotard, a gymnastics t-shirt, or a roll of colorful pre-wrap (for making stretchy headbands for her hair). She also likes to color, draw, and make cards for people. She has really nice handwriting, and she likes to experiment with different "fonts". So, one of her friends bought her a neat miniature writing kit with tiny colored pencils and gel pens, special paper and some stamps and stencils. And, I know it may sound impersonal, but my dd loves going shopping for her own clothes or picking out a special toy she wouldn't normally be able to get, so she really enjoys getting gift cards. A small gift card to Target, Justice, or Old Navy would be a hit with her. She also loves sweets, so a gift card to Cold Stone or Graeters would also be well received. Good luck! Mom0012
My daughter just had her 8th birthday. She loves these books from Usborne http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Dstripbooks&field-keywords=usborne+sticker+dolly&x=9&y=24. She also loves Webkinz, puzzles and craft projects. She has a Knifty Knitter that she enoys using. Polly Pockets and Little Pet Shop toys are favorites as well. She got a game for a birthday called Candy Fix http://www.amazon.com/Think-Fun-1530-ThinkFun-Chocolate/dp/B000Y8EQ8K/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1257718481&sr=8-9 and she's getting a game called Square Up for Christmas http://www.amazon.com/MindWare-36006W-Square-Up/dp/B000WA4IRO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=toys-and-games&qid=1257718795&sr=8-1. gandpsmommy
Yes, get this and the Paula Deen cookbook for kids! My dd is now 9 and LOVES to cook and has to don her special apron every time.:D That's funny because my 8yo dd has been drawn to the aprons in several stores and came close to buying one. A pretty apron would be a great gift if the girl likes to cook or bake.
