staceyobu
We've been dealing with bloody stool in my breastfed baby for months now... off and on. Through food journaling, I see a distinct correlation between carrots and bleeding. Do you know anyone allergic to carrots? My ped thinks it's VERY unlikely... but I found a journal article that said that 25% of people with food allergies are allergic to carrots. Even after mentioning the article he still didn't think it was likely... I just wondered how many of you know someone who knows someone with a carrot allergy... yarrow
allergies and carrot is one of them. My symptoms are mouth/throat itching. If you think that's the culprit, just eliminate the carrots. That's a fairly easy allergy to work around. But I'd also watch for other food allergies.
SonshineLearner
I get an itchy mouth with carrots, sometimes.... apples, strawberries, avocados, peaches...nectarines.. & some other things... use to with bananas but now I'm pretty ok with those... and then raw nuts. It's actually ... for me.... something that I found more about from Kaiser Perm. Insurance... It's the enzymes.... Frozen or cooked... I'm ok. Remember not to give peanuts or nuts before 3, if you are concerned about allergies

Tap
Ds15 was allergic to carrots when he was a baby. He could have cooked carrots but not raw. The enzymes change when they are fully cooked and he was only allergic to it in its raw form.
Lolly
My dd is. But, then, she is allergic to almost everything. Her only true non allergic reaction foods that were tested were coffee, mushrooms, broccoli, and cinnamon. Most of the tests showed a 3 or 4 reaction. Carrots were a 4++ for her, extreme allergy. Wyndie
My youngest is allergic to carrot. Severe stomach pain and acid diarrhea within 30 minutes of injesting the tiniest little amount. As an infant it gave her bloody stools as well.
