  1. Thanks. I'll try hand-washing it. I'm wondering why the itch. The dress is lined so my skin isn't actually touching the wool. I'm hoping that washing it will eliminate that problem.
  2. I have to go to a funeral tomorrow and I picked up a black dress at a consignment shop. It's a black wool lined dress. However, it feels a little itchy and has a slight perfumey smell that I can't identify. I was going to have it dry-cleaned but they couldn't turn it around in time. Would you hand-wash a wool lined dress? Or will I ruin it? It looks like this except it's 100% wool. http://www.talbots.com/online/browse/product_details.jsp?id=prdi29208&rootCategory=cat70008&catId=cat80018&sortKey=Default&section=Regular&conceptIdUnderSale=cat70008
  3. I have a question about apartments/hotels in/near Rome. If we wanted to go visit Rome, how would we go about finding an apartment to rent for a week? Also, when I look at tripadvisor, there are SO many hotels and they're so expensive. Any tips?
  4. I thought we were looking for a Wii. But now there's Wii U and someone told me about xbox 360. Then there's xbox 360 with kinect and without. I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. My 14 yo son wanted a wii to play games. That's all I know:). Any recommendations or advice? Thanks!
  5. My husband accidentally bought regular detergent and I didn't notice until it went into suds lock just now. I've been using it for days. The washer is full of suds. I tried scooping them out and running the rinse cycle but it just fills up with more suds. Any advice????
  6. I'm still trying to decide what to use for this coming fall for my son. I was leaning towards MFW World History but then I came across TOG. If anyone is aware of how they differ/are similar explain it to me, that would be great. I'm not entirely sure I know what I want (part of the problem) but I do know we want a literature-based program with some sort of a guide. Yes, I've looked at Sonlight & Beautiful Feet. Obviously, I want to be involved and discuss and guide but I can't have something that requires lots and lots of teacher planning. Anyone want to give me they're opinions on whether TOG might be a good match? And if it's worth the cost with one high school aged child at home to use it?
  7. Does anyone have any thoughts on Rosetta Stone Russian? My 9th grade son would like to try to learn Russian using RS but I wanted to ask for opinions first. Thanks.
  8. I don't know how to do quotes so I'll just answer the question. yes, he LOVES to read!
  9. Two questions about Sonlight. Is the guide similiar to BF? Also, if it's geared to middle school, is it enough to count for high school credit? He's a young 9th grader, so we may end up holding him back a year/have him do an extra year or take a gap year but that hasn't been determined yet.
  10. My son did Beautiful Feet Ancient's in 8th grade and very much enjoyed both having the guide to follow and the literature approach. This year he is technically entering 9th and wants to do World History over 2 years. When I look at Beautiful Feet World History, I see that he's not necessarily ready for the books they're using. Can anyone tell me what other literature-based programs are out there for World History that may be similiar to BF? I did look at Ambleside Online but with no "guide" to follow, it looks a little more intimidating. Thanks for all your help.
  11. Thank you. Levi's does have that size online at Amazon. When I had looked at the local store, they didn't carry the 29x34 and I assumed Levi's didn't make them. Thank you so much!
  12. I can't seem to find jeans to fit my son. He really is more of a 28x34 but can wear a 29 if he needs to. It seems that I can find 29x32 or 30x34 but then they're either too short or way too loose. I'm looking to shop online and, preferably, not spend more than $40-50/pair on them if I can since he's still growing quickly. thanks for any assistance.
