Mommyof4ks
I did not learn that until last year. :blushing: My dd told me. Yep, I felt silly.
Rosie_0801
No need to feel silly, unless you published something about them. I'd have ranted directly to the publisher if I could think of a suitable word rhyming with bear to fix their song with. Unfortunately I'm not that creative so am limited to ranting. Almost over it now. :) Rosie
keptwoman
No. They are much too ugly and silly looking to be bears.
thescrappyhomeschooler
What rhymes with marsupial? :D
Guest RecumbentHeart
A pet peeve of mine as well. Is the CD good otherwise? I was intending to buy it this year.
Jen in PA
I taught my DC that koalas aren't bears last year. Now they make loud comments in public restrooms that have those "Koala Bear Care" foldout changing tables.
Rosie_0801
Is the CD good otherwise? I was intending to buy it this year. Couldn't tell you. Our cd player is broken and to run it on the computer requires messing around, playing "musical plugs." We're getting a new dvd player for Christmas, since that broke too, so maybe I'll be able to tell you then! From looking at the songbook, I estimate annoying but effective. :) Rosie
LauraGB
I'd have ranted directly to the publisher if I could think of a suitable word rhyming with bear to fix their song with. How about derriere? You know; Get your head of there; a Koala is not a bear... :D
Rosie_0801
That's nice, Laura. I think you should write to the publisher. I wouldn't presume to claim your idea as my own! Rosie
Scarlett
No. They are much too ugly and silly looking to be bears. I have a special fondness for Koalas ever since ds was about 2. I read him an ABC book over. and. over. and over. You know. Anyway, the "K" word was Koala and he pronounced it Ku lala. Sooooo precious. LauraGB
I wouldn't presume to claim your idea as my own! Okay, then how about: A koala is a marsupial, these creatures are arboreal, this knowledge is remedial...?
readwithem
 (Just received the Geography Songs book and cd in the mail and needed to rant.) Rosie Believe it or not, my dd wrote about this in her college application essay ;)
Spy Car
Sea lions? Not lions. Prairie Dogs? Not dogs. Kangaroo Rats? Not marsupials.
LindaOz
From looking at the songbook, I estimate annoying but effective. Ha! Yes! That is a great summation of the CD - annoying but VERY effective. My kids were singing geography songs tonight while cleaning the kitchen. They ALL sing and refer to them - even those who aren't officially using the program. But my dh can't stand it. I think he would just term it 'annoying' without adding the 'effective' tag :tongue_smilie:
Guest RecumbentHeart
From looking at the songbook, I estimate annoying but effective. :) Rosie Awesome ... IMO one of the worst things about homeschooling the early years is the songs that get stuck in one's head ... :D
