LauraGB
Regarding the comments after the article; its really sad and unfortunate that people have to get their diggs in at the expense of a child. Really sad.
Desert Rat
Thanks for the follow up, Tammy. It's good to hear he's doing well. The comments were interesting. I find it sad that people want to place the blame on Mom. One even mentioned her sitting in the class with him! Um, that's not what traditional school is and I doubt that would even be allowed! I'm glad to see some positive posts though.

GnomeyNewt
First, forgive me but what is an honor roll look like in the 2nd grade? I can barely remember what it was in high school! I'm glad he was able to get to a place where he can learn! Edited October 20, 2009 by GnomeyNewt
mom to 3 boys & 1 girl
I remember how horrified I was when I first heard this story. I'm glad to read that he is doing well!
kalanamak
I'm sorry the second grade HAS an honor roll. Great for teens, but at 7 some kids are still filling in their weaknesses.
Reya
I'm sorry the second grade HAS an honor roll. Great for teens, but at 7 some kids are still filling in their weaknesses. I never made it in elementary school. (I threw away any homework.) Didn't hurt me any. :-) What really brought down my "grade" was things like "coloring skills" and "listens to instructions." I was bored and saw no point to the work. Still don't.
