BikeBookBread
I trudged up to Costco today (in 95 degrees) for a small list of things -- and they were out of baking soda. They are not expected to have any in stock until the end of the month. Anyone know of other stores that sell BIG packages of baking soda? Like 10 pounds minimum? (NOT washing soda...pure baking soda). I know that our Targets don't -- I've checked. Our Base Commissary doesn't either.

gardening momma
Good question. I'd like to know too. We use baking soda in our pool. We don't have a BJ's, and we don't have a Costco membership (it is membership required, right?). sagira
BJ's and Sam's Club. Other than that, you could try and see if you have a restaurant supply store in your area.
LMA
I have seen 12 lb. bags at Wal-Mart's pool section.
BikeBookBread
I'm not familiar with BJ's -- is it a warehouse club? I don't think we have that here in Arizona. I'm going to try a restaurant supply.

BikeBookBread
They are about 90 minutes north of us...thanks for the tip, though; I have not heard of this chain. Maybe they will move closer to the border soon :)

gardening momma
Check at a pool supply store. I'll have dh check our local pool supply stores. Have you seen baking soda at a pool supply store? You wouldn't think they'd want to let that secret out. The problem with buying there is that most pool supplies are overpriced compared to just buying baking soda. This is the first year we've used it for the pool, and it's worked wonders. ETA: even buying the little one pound boxes at Kroger or Walmart is a lot cheaper than buying the pool chemicals we used to use in place of baking soda. But larger quantities at a lower price would be welcome.
milovany
We can get big bags through our once-a-month co-op ... http://www.azurestandard.com ... are you in their delivery area?
MyThreeSons
I've seen them in WalMart -- in the pool supply section. Sam's Club sells them as well.
stripe
I feel like I've seen them in grocery stores, in the laundry section. While I'm not sure of the quantity, they're pretty big, so if necessary two would get you to 12 lbs.
Blessedwithboys
I buy 50 lb. bags of baking soda from our local farm supply co-op for our swimming pool. I think I've been paying around $17 per bag. Do you have any farm supply stores near you?
