battlemaiden
Cranford, Wives and Daughters, all the Jane Austen movies, etc. My kids and I loved watching Cranford this past weekend. With all the unpacking during the week, I'm expecting to do some serious relaxing next Sunday. :D I'm setting up my netflix queue. Thanks. Leanna Tomlinson
We just enjoyed Victoria and Albert starring Jonathan Firth and Victoria Hamilton. (A&E entertainment) North and South is another one. (not to be confused with THE North and The South - a civil war movie) This one is about a family who moves to northern England from southern England during the Jane Austen Era. We haven't seen Cranford yet. I need to put it in my queue. ~ Leanna
BikeBookBread
The recent BBC production of Little Dorritt was WONDERFUL -- was shown on Masterpiece classic this most-recent season. Also, The Winslow Boy. These are just off top of my head. I have seen a million like those you suggested, just can't think of any right now... ElizabethB
:grouphug: We have a few evil boxes left, so feel your pain. Evil boxes: boxes that you wait to do until last, full of a lot of different things you mostly don't need but you can't be sure until you go through the box. (I've found strange things in the most unlikely boxes.)
FairProspects
Warning: I am a certified costume drama junkie. Here are some other titles for you: North & South (like PP said) The Secret Life of Mrs. Beeton He Knew He Was Right The Way We Live Now Jane Eyre Wuthering Heights (most recent one) Daniel Deronda Bleak House The Ruby in the Smoke Angels and Insects Under the Greenwood Tree BBC's Robin Hood series Hope that gets you started! I've got more where those came from!

ElizabethB
I once found my TV remote in a box full of my notebooks and papers from college. Curse you, evil boxes! You got my packers, too! (Or maybe just anyone paid $4 an hour to pack up your stuff...)
BikeBookBread
You got my packers, too! (Or maybe just anyone paid $4 an hour to pack up your stuff...) My favorite military move box combo was this: 18" tall really heavy bronze-looking minuteman soldier holding rifle (which snapped off) in a box with a lampshade (unwrapped) and an unpadded boom box -- oh yeah -- it was a dish pack box, too. battlemaiden
Is this only for you or for the entire family? Primarily for the family, but I would entertain other ideas. I may want to hide from my bored children by next weekend. :D It doesn't have to please my husband, he's at sea. :-P::::::::::: Jo

battlemaiden
I once found my TV remote in a box full of my notebooks and papers from college. Curse you, evil boxes! The winner so far: They took the tray off of the baby's high chair and put it in the bottom of a large wardrobe box in the garage labeled "tools." I thought I'd lose my mind that first week. Chris in VA
There's an older series (about 28 years, maybe? lol) from PBS called "Flambords" or "Flambards." Loved the first installment when I was around 17 or 18. Not really like what you said, but maybe those "house" reality shows from PBS would be fun? "Manor House," "Colonial House," and my fav, "Pioneer House." (I think it was pioneer, maybe something else--but it was very good.)
HollyDay
I just watched The Other Bolyne Girl and it was interesting, but some "relational" scenes you might want to be aware of if children are present. Age of Innocence was good too, but it is based on a married man falling in love with another woman.
MeaganS
Horatio Hornblower might be a good one.
