  2. How did your kids like doing Onenote? I can see mine balk at this. Will be showing them this thread today sometime.
  3. Can you print them out and bind them up? Also how long did it take to get the hang of using the program?
  4. I found the thread about Onenote that was posted in 2011. Are you guys still using OneNote? I love the idea but love pen and paper or just excel spreadsheet with printed version. I do have Onenote but its a 2007 version which came with my laptop. Just curious if you guys are still using Onenote? Also how big is the learning curve? Thanks Holly
  5. Hello, We will be going to Pigeon Forge/ Gatlinburg for vacation with my parents. My parents told me that they want to take the kids to the comedy barn. Hubby and I are not show people or like that kind of thing. So we will be kid free for a few hours. Where are the must eat places? must see places such as shopping places that is unique? Thanks!! Holly
  6. I never used Coursera. It is very interesting and something I would go for esp my current freshman. Can we record these or not? I thought I read somewhere somebody recorded the lectures for topics later on. How do we record if we are able to do so? Thanks!! Holly
  7. I am trying to do this with MOH. I have the Holy Land Drive thru History DVDs. I am trying to line them up with MOH. Would love to see if somebody else did this.
  8. bumping.....need to know the answer to the question above^^
  9. What is COMPASS? I do not think Indiana has this one. We do not believe our HFA will be able to go to college. Maybe the CC route is a possibility.
  10. What about the Aquarium? Also any homeschool discounts I need to know about? Will they accept HSLDA cards for proof?
  11. They said there are bears all over there. So...that is why I was warned. I am severely claustrophobic so no caving for me. lol!
  12. Hello folks!! We are going to Pigeon Forge end of May to the condo we are staying in. We will be going back and forth between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. We are planning on going to Dollywood several times. We are planning on getting passes to Dollywood as it is cheaper to get passes than to get a day ticket. We love putt putt, mom/pop shops and restaurants, nature hikes (we have been warned by others not do to this there lol!!), museums if the price is right.... So what are the MUST see/do and places to eat that knock your socks off!! :) We will be eating breakfast at the condos and eat out more for lunch and dinner. Thanks guys!! BTW we are traveling from Indiana...if that helps Holly IN
  13. I am having trouble with this because each edition says something different. I know it is different books she recommends but the idea of history is different in each edition. I like keeping history separate from great books. So I like the newest edition idea the best but in that she says divide the number of chapters based on weeks. For me having it scheduled out keeps all of us on same page. I do have HO book which my middle schooler will use. I can possibly use that one as a guide instead of Spielvogel for planning purpose....use spielvogel for the main readings. sigh!!
  14. Ok ch 25 is "The Beginning of the Twentieth Century Crises: War and Revolution" First section is The Road to World War 1 pgs 717-722 2nd section is The War pgs 722-736 3rd section is War and Revolution pgs 736-744 4th section is the Peace Settlement pgs 744-748 I am assuming the sections are for weeks???
  15. According to the book its one chapter a week. I am looking at the chapters and its huge. (I am using 6th ed combined) My son is not a fast reader. We made the switch to have Spielvogel to be the main spine along with the Murphey book of Asia and Bennet's America book. I am using Spielvogel as the guide to follow. We are almost done with modern history. We are starting chapter 25 and I am looking at the chapters. There is no way my son can do all this reading in one week. If it can be done in one week then how did your students do it? If you didn't do a chapter a week then how did you divide it and for how many weeks per chapter? Holly
