I put it under English on my oldest son's transcript. According to Jean Burke's new book "High School Prep Genius" it is considered a separate course. I was shocked about that. Indiana do not recognize Logic as a course but as part of English....that is what I was told here. Holly

Hello, I am trying so hard to find the post where SWB actually said the changes she is making for the next TWTM book in regards to writing materials due to changes of the lineup with WWS being 1-3 instead of 1-4. There was a book she recommended in the post that is not in the current TWTM book. I can't find it and can't remember where it is. I am trying to line up writing for my freshman son who HATES to write. Currently he is dragging his feet on WWS book 1. I know I posted this before but I can't find my post at all. It is not even coming up on "My Content" section. So without further ado, if you have a freshman who hates to write and is dragging his feet with WWS book 1. What was the process SWB stated? I am trying to understand here. Wordpress is highly recommended. I get that. What about their premium upgrade? Is it worth the money? Now the hosting, I have to use hosting site such as hostgator or hawkhost in order to be in control, right? So I am missing a puzzle piece between the hosting such as hostgator...Ok so for example: I use my domain name from namecheap(which is A) then use hosting from hostgator.com (which is B)then go to wordpress (which is C) and set it up. What I am not udnerstanding between B and C? How do I connect the two ? IN other words if I want wordpress to be the hosted but I have full control over placing amazon affiliates....does this mean premium upgrades? sorry I am terrible at this even with associate computer degree of 20 years ago. sigh!!! Ok I did some more research. I am confused now. There are wordpress.com and wordpress.org....Also found out if you are wanting ads and yet use wordpress, you have to use wordpress.org or find a webhost and domain then upload wordpress software. Is this right?

What do you mean "on wordpress hosted..."

We are looking at Condos not hotels. We will consider a house through VRBO if price is right otherwise condos is what we are looking at. I do not want to go further than Seista Key and no further north than Tampa.

Wordpress.com is confusing esp with their premium upgrade. I bought it and couldn't figure it out so I canceled before the deadline to get full refund. Right now I have a free wordpress but the blog address i wanted is not available however it is in my domain I paid for through namecheap.com. So not sure how to go about that.

Hello, I am looking at Bradenton right now. However I am not coming up with good searches on VRBO with that area. We love Siesta key but the place we stay at raised their prices AGAIN. So no way we can afford it now. So we are looking at staying on the beach between Seista Key to Tampa area. Anybody have recs for this area? Thanks!!

Hello, Several friends of mine have begged me to start a blog or website talking about my experiences with homeschooling, working and raising a daughter with HFA. They said they would love to refer them to my blog. I started one yesterday through Wordpress.com (free version). I am looking at the premium version and can't figure out the domain stuff. I did buy one from namecheap.com. Nothing is attached to it right now. I am sitting on it until I know what to do. 1) Wordpress.com users: If you are a premium user, tell me how the whole domain works. I can't figure that out. Do you get a free domain with the premium bundle? On the free version, can I add Amazon.com stuff if I want to be an associate where they buy stuff through the link? or do I have to be a premium user in order to do that? 2) What is the benefit of a blog (free) over a website? 3) What is the best Free blog? Best paid blog? 4) If doing a website, how would I go about that? I got my domain name from namecheap but what about hosting? I am very familiar with her book and I have all of them. :) I know everything about WTM and her philosophy. ;) All I am asking is why use TOG or other " done" programs vs WTM recs. Just wanting to have a discussion about this. I use TOG due to my full time job. Right now I am doing a lot of thinking as things may change this fall re to my job and kids schooling (yes will continue to homeschool but may have to make changes). Just want to have a discussion about this.

I agree with the science and math as I do not use their recs for those two main subject areas. Totally agree there. WTM is wonderful for the Humanities side of education. I do wish there was a way to use a different science curriculam and still use the philosophy of WTM with it. So for ex: I use Pearson Biology program. I am trying to figure how to use the WTM philosophy of their science section in the book to Pearson's Biology (Miller Levine with Macaw on cover)

I am curious. I have been using TOG for a long time due to working full time and homeschool full time with 3 kids. If I wasn't working I def. would be using WTM exclusively. So how many of you just use WTM rec's esp for history. Why do you use WTM rec's vs something already prepped like TOG? I sincerely would like to know not for debating as to what is better or not. That is not what I am asking. I am asking why due to one is all done for you vs one is not. I would love to use WTM rec's exclusively but I can't as I have no time to do so. I do believe WTM rec's are superior to other programs. Again this is not up for debate but for discussion. I do not want to see this thread shut down. ;) thanks!

I am doing more research on this. I really can't find if it is a grain based or not. I know certain grains cause me to have intestinal upsets especially corn. It is considered grain free as it is processed by molasses most of the time. So it could be the yeast or just the high sugar alcohol. Thanks guys for your help.

I also checked Purdue University AP qualifications. It depends on your scores and depends on the academic advisor if you test out of something or earn credit. They are a bit iffy on this than they are clep. Not sure but you can check it out as an example. The only reason I am focusing on Purdue University is it is one of the harder colleges to get into than IUPUI or IU.

I just went on Purdue University's website. They do accept AP courses but you really do not test out of their courses by doing so. It just carries more weight for admissions that is it. No testing out at Purdue University.

For your first time with Jann I would do 2x a week.

I went the CC route. I felt it was a huge risk in doing AP or Clep. I have been hearing more and more colleges are not accepting AP or Clep...chose not to take the risk.

I do not get this with wine though....
