Hi, I'm hoping to hear from some folks that have used this course via the distance learning with Mrs. Dunn. How did you like the course....did it seem age appropriate, was it rigorous enough? How did you/your student like the teacher, Mrs. Dunn? I have viewed the samples for this course and I'm uncertain about the teacher's presentation style. She seemed to "talk down" to the students and seemed to be speaking to kindergarteners rather than 4th graders. I know the samples can only offer a glimpse, so I'm trying to get a good feel for the teacher's presentation by hearing from those who have used it. Thanks for any comments.

I'm seeing 4 sets of flowers in all--- and the 2nd set has 3 flowers on the stem, also the 4th set has 3 flowers on the stem. I'd circle the first and fourth set since they both have 3 flowers.. Maybe you were counting the bouquets individually instead of the individual flowers on each stem? I can see that being confusing.

I do one CLE lesson along with one SM Exercise daily. It's doable because the CLE I00 lessons are pretty short overall, and the SM Exercises are typically only 2-3 pages each.

I'm using CLE I00 (Christian Light Education) along with Singapore IA/IB for my dd in first grade. I think it's a good balance because CLE offers a more traditional scope and sequence while Singapore promotes a lot of mental math/out of the box thinking.

Hi, I am looking into possibly using Saxon Grammar and Writing 4 and noticed there is a newer, updated 2nd edition now available. I've learned that the updated version now meets Common Core Standards for language and writing, and all that I can find about changes is that the writing portion has been expanded per CC alignment. I'm curious if anyone has this program or has used it and can tell me how the alignment with Common Core has affected this program as far as specific assignments? I wonder if there is any "funky" or questionable CC stuff in there that might be a problem. Thank you.

I am currently using the Veritas Press online Self-Paced history course---Old Testament/Ancient Egypt--- with my soon-to-be 4th/Ist graders. It is anything but boring : ) The course is informative, engaging and fun. It is the one area of schooling that both my girls truly look forward to. The online course also has optional coordinating literature packages that round out the program.

My daughter really likes the Elephant and Piggy books as well : ) Have looked up other titles by Mo Willems? He has the Pigeon books and the Knuffle Bunny books, plus others. My daughter likes those as well since they are fun and silly.

It IS Sonlight that they (Cloverleaf) are using now but, Sonlight won't admit it. The pdf makes it so clear---it's the same SL product that is available on their website---there are even direct links to the SL product website from the Cloverleaf materials pdf.
