Has anyone seen anything anti-Semitic in the materials you’ve used?

How would you classify the religious content in Classical Academia Press materials? Specifically Latin, Spanish, Writing and Rhetoric, and Grammar. We are of mixed faiths and races and are trying to find the best mix of material. I am firmly against using Abeka, Veritas Press, Apologia and other curriculums of the ilk. CAP materials look fairly neutral though and I like the setup of them.

I stayed and we've been very happy for the past decade.

How religiously conservative are they? How well would they work for a liberal, multi-racial, Christian family?

What are your favorite literature guides that are available online? I would like Memoria Press type guides but am looking for diverse books and they need to be printable if at all possible. Around a 3rd grade level.

It looks like its Heggerty and Core Knowledge. Both are great programs. You usually cant find Heggerty free online.

What is your favorite math curriculum that's available as a pdf? We have Math Mammoth plus a lot of vintage, but nothing I have is right for this kiddo. We have tons of manipulatives so no issue there.

It will consist of 3 main guides, 1 per year, of Literature, History, Science, Art, Poetry, Memory Work and Enrichment. Three Handwriting Books- Beginning Manuscript, Advancing Manuscript, and Complete Cursive. One complete Early Math book. 4 schedules using Miquon Math. Thank you for all of the feedback! We ran this poll on our Facebook page as well and got some great feedback there as well. It seems the general consensus is that it SOUNDS like a great idea but the execution might not match up to what we hope for it. I believe we have decided to offer the consumables as PDF only, provide certain dry erase materials (things that will be used often such as number bond mats, tens frames, etc) and make the rest of the program non-consumable. The hope is to make the program affordable, and usable with multiple children as well as making it easy to go back and review/redo concepts without having to make entire consumable review materials.

I am in the process of developing a new curriculum. We originally were going to use traditional workbooks but as development progressed the idea of using dry erase materials that could be filled in different ways depending on the lesson was brought up. Since the workbooks are not fully finished and edited we still have the opportunity to switch but we don't know how well it would go over so that's where you guys come in. Would you be interested in a program like this? No workbooks, minimal activity pages, reusable dry erase materials, plus flashcards/charts, all planned out with corresponding crafts, literature, etc. The curriculum covers Language Arts and Reading, Math, Science, History and Art.

Stardust and Coraline are my favorites. Not Neil Gaiman but his wife Amanda Palmer recorded a beautiful version of Wynken, Blynken and Nod as well that we love.

As for other recommendations The Keys to the Kingdom series by Garth Nix, and possibly Abarat. They are both on the fantas/dystopian side of things. Island of the Aunts- Eva Ibbotson, Losing christina- Caroline Cooney.

In a few years have her re-read The Giver and then read Anthem by Ayn Rand (your older daughter could probably do this if she's still homeschooled). My kids compare/contrast the books right around 13 or 14. Its always an interesting assignment.

OK so this has changed a bit, we are calling this year Adv 1st instead of going full on 2nd grade (she is a young five and while she CAN do everything I have listed we're having issues in whether she SHOULD). Reading- Pathway Grade 2 and The Good and the Beautiful Level 1 with a little of the K level for review. Math- Miquon Orange, Red and Blue and Green if she gets to it. Science- My Body unit and Grade 2 Interactive Science Notebook History- is up in the air but she's still doing geography. Handwriting- Pentime 2/3 Foreign Language- Spanish Gr 1 Grammar- ELTL 2 and probably some McGraw Hill worksheets

See I ran into a similar situation on Facebook recently and decided not to introduce myself. I had commented on a mommy page and noticed a user whose profile picture was very familiar.
