  1. Carpet in the master (or any other) bathroom. I love the house we are renting except for this one thing! So gross!
  2. What about Brave Writer? Your son would be in the Jot It Down stage (where he dictates to you) and she has lots of great ideas for writing projects at that stage.
  3. When I click on that link, at the bottom of the page is this disclaimer: This Page is automatically generated based on what Facebook users are interested in, and not affiliated with or endorsed by anyone associated with the topic.
  4. "Reverent" is LDS-speak for being quiet and respectful (usually at church). When I am asking my children to "be reverent" at church, I am usually asking them to fold their arms and not talk during a service. Or walking down the halls, I would remind them to "be reverent" and they would take that to mean walk (not run) and use a regular voice instead of shouting. Not sure how it applies to what Joe was asking the kids to do, but reverent is used so frequently by LDS and since they at one point identified as LDS, it can't be a coincidence.
  5. We really like the one they do with Snape on the Bachelorette. Wish I knew how to link it!
  6. I found that interesting too!!
  7. I'll be the voice of dissent. I had a male Shih Tzu that I got when I was young and stupid that I eventually had to rehome after he bit a couple of kids, including my toddler son, on the nose. But I will say that I was a major cause of the problem because I didn't properly socialize him as a puppy and I didn't get him neutered until he was 4. Even so, I will never get another Shih Tzu. The grooming costs alone were a major expense for me, although it was nice that he didn't shed! ETA: he did have to have surgery to open up his nasal passages, caused by the flat face.
  8. I think the contract sounds sketchy, but she is probably correct about the market, depending on where you are looking in CO. We used to live in Aurora and still have friends there. Houses are selling in 24 hours for over asking price there.
  9. How exciting! Can't wait to see pictures!
  10. I'm sorry, but having grown up in a family with the first "mindset" you described, it is absolutely untrue that there is more sexual sin in the second group. Maybe it is handled differently in the firdt group, but it is there nonetheless. There is sexual sin and there is also sexual abuse by those in power in both groups. Not bashing Christians at all. I just can't let your statement go by because it is NOT TRUE.
  11. Oh my gosh! He is so sweet! Congratulations!
  12. I probably would have just sent a quick email to the teacher letting her know that particular book was a non-fiction book targeted directly to teens (IMO that's different than a fiction book targeted to teens like Harry Potter). And I would talk to my child about choosing books more geared to him.
  13. Oh yes, if you go on their facebook pages you will see all the anti-government comments from their supporters.
  14. I wonder if it's less of a B&B idea, and more of an "aspiring homesteaders can come out here and learn from us" concept. Which isn't really any better, I guess!
  15. Yes, she's much more well-spoken than he is.
  16. Now Nicole is talking about what they have on the property in terms of livestock: goats, chickens, and dogs. They plan to raise rabbits for meat and will be starting that endeavor this summer as well as planting an orchard this summer. Eventually they want to have an aviary and additional cabins where guests can stay.
  17. I've only had time to listen to the first five minutes but so far it's just Joe ranting rather incoherently about what's wrong with society.
  18. Our dream is to buy some acreage, build a house, and have goats, chickens, bees, and a good-sized garden in 5-10 years. I imagine that will keep me busy at home after the kids are gone. If we end up changing our minds and staying in town, I imagine I will either get a job or be heavily involved in a volunteer role at our church.
