I'll be the voice of dissent. I had a male Shih Tzu that I got when I was young and stupid that I eventually had to rehome after he bit a couple of kids, including my toddler son, on the nose. But I will say that I was a major cause of the problem because I didn't properly socialize him as a puppy and I didn't get him neutered until he was 4. Even so, I will never get another Shih Tzu. The grooming costs alone were a major expense for me, although it was nice that he didn't shed! ETA: he did have to have surgery to open up his nasal passages, caused by the flat face.

Maybe it is handled differently in the firdt group, but it is there nonetheless. There is sexual sin and there is also sexual abuse by those in power in both groups. Not bashing Christians at all. I probably would have just sent a quick email to the teacher letting her know that particular book was a non-fiction book targeted directly to teens (IMO that's different than a fiction book targeted to teens like Harry Potter). And I would talk to my child about choosing books more geared to him.
