  1. We are starting Aug 31st but we will be starting slowly and easing into things.
  2. The answer to all your questions isn't going to be the same for everybody. It's between you, your Dh and God. I suggest praying over these questions together with your Dh. Check this page for some good books on the idea of trusting God with your family size: http://www.quiverfull.com/resources.php
  3. I second this! Just start with one subject and slowly work your way into more.
  4. We are qf, but not ATI( never heard of ati until I heard of the Duggars ), I wear jeans and a t shirt most days and cut my hair although I do like it a bit on the longer side.
  5. I have a KK and am very happy with it. I prefer glass but S/S is the next best thing for me.
  6. Both sides of our extended family think we are completely nuts. At this point I don't think there is anything we could do that would suprise them.
  7. We are quiverfull. This site is good http://www.quiverfull.com/ and they have an email digest you can sign up for.
  8. American History Stories by Pratt http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0375812563/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance The American Story:100 True Tales from American History http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1599152029/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance Or even American Tales Reader from Hewitt!? http://www.rainbowresource.com/prodlist.php?sid=1246821515-594367&subject=14&category=7028 Which of these would be a better spine/read aloud for kids in grades 6 on down? I was thinking this might go nice with these too, Children's Encyclopedia of American History http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0789483300/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance Thanks!
  9. Ideally I'd like to do this with him but I am trying to figure out my schedule for next year and I don't know. There isn't enough time in my day. I really want to do chemistry with my 6th, 3rd and 1st graders, but everything is either too easy for the 6th grader or too hard for the 3rd and 1st graders. I am thinking the only option is to keep them seperate.
  10. Huge pile of spinach topped with shredded broccoli, carrots, mung sprouts, chick peas, almonds, raisins and fat free dressing.
  11. I do combine as much as I can. Even if I am only able to lump a few kids together that helps. Pretty much the only subjets each does at his or her own grade level are math and english. In the morning we do some group things and then I start wokring with one child. Once that child is able to continue on alone I start with the next and so on until everyone is working and then I just keep going through subjects/kids until we are done.
  12. We use SOS spanish also and have been very pleased. At @ $60 for a year you can't go wrong.
  13. Thanks everyone! It does look great. I am thinking of ordering the DVD option and using this for a semester. I think my kids are going to enjoy it.
  14. yes, it does! I am thinking of buying it no matter what! :D It looks so good!
  15. I have a large amount of science supplies and I looked at the list of supplies on the chemistry II page and it appears I have most if not everything listed. Are the instructions for the experiments in the Noeo guide or do they come with the young scientist kits? Thanks!
  16. This looks amazing! My kids love to draw so I think this would be a huge hit here. I am trying to figure out how I would make this work though. If you plan to use this are you adding it to your history curriculum or doing it as a seperate course? We are using TOG yr 2 this coming year and I am not sure if I should incorporate it in, or if that is even doable? Thanks!
  17. I'd love to hear from those that have used this. How many chapters are there and how long is this meant to last? How many experiments are there? Are the experiments easy enough for a 4th grader to understand? Did you like it and did your kids enjoy it? Thanks!
