High school subjects should take longer. What takes DD longer is Math. Her senior year she has less subjects because we found out what she needs to get into community college . No math or science this year., Mainly vocabulary and writing and literature. 9-11th gr she started at 8am took 15 min breaks after each subject . She would finish some day at 3 other she was still going till dinner around 5. Just really depends on what you are teaching and the child.

What I am doing with my DD is doing greek and latin root words, DH said that when he took test he did really well because he knew root words. She is doing really well with them.

1. Got married at 37 2. had daughter at almost 43 3. People do not know that things I do for people that need help. 4. I am a nicer person than people think. 5. I used to work for an insurance company running the computer. 6. I would be in a quiet room by myself and read. 7. Do not like to go out to eat. 8. Dislike driving 9. WIsh I had more women friends 10. want to take a long vacation , not necessiarly with anyone.

too much stuff going on and not concerning home schooling. DD driving and will get her drivers test next month. DH been sick for two weeks. I was sick first but not like he was. Then DD but hers was one day, is because he has diverticulitis was worse. then dealing with piddly stuff with the city. They can be such J****. She homeschooled her two boys who are now 15 and almost 16 till 6th grade, then sent them to public school for two years and when Obama got elected president she took them out to homeschool again. They were falling behind in PS anyway. this is going to be her second year homeschooling them since she took them out of PS. They are way behind in math, she has Saxon teacher and she says they just do not get it. She hired a tutor and they will not do the work. What would you do with them? SHe did tell them that she did not care if they stayed in high school till they were 20 but after age 18 she is not schooling them . Me I would kick them out of my house when they turned 18, period. They just will not do it. Their dad does not stick to his guns. I my self would stick them in high school and they would both be put in 9th grade. They may would even put them back as far as 8th grade. These are boys that just do not want to learn, they want to play guitars , go over to friends houses and get their drivers license and are not looking into the future a tall. They have a brother that does media stuff for movies and commericals. He went to school in California, got his degree in two years and is now making a lot and I mean a lot of money in Burbank California.He has no plans on ever coming back to Texas. They should see what he has done and want to make something out of theirselves. any help here.?

I know my Dd now 18 willnot homeschool her kids if she has any. It would take too much of her time. I know it takes and has taken a lot of mine.

I donot know what to tell you, but my DD had the same problem , it has taken her to now 12th gr to actually get it. Her brain could not handle it till now.

We have used Saxon algebra 1 and 2 with the teacher dvd's and dd did it all by herself and made straight a's.

years ago when I started homeschooling it seemed like the curriculum was harder, it does seem much too easy now. I did check with our Community college that dd will be attending next year and the subjects she does not need I am not going to even bother with teaching her. instead she is learning HTML from her father. That will take up half a day each day .

It is not all Salads., It can be but better to have some dairy also. breakfast, omelet with veggies a smoothie Snack fruit or fruit bars that are real fruit. yogurt. lunch and dinner my DD loves burritos, salads with different ingredients. beans and rice baked potatoes and salad soups veggie there are books out there on amazon for kids that are vegeterian so that they can make it themselves.

My DD is almost 17 is taking driving school and she said that all the boys from high school that are in there talk and text during the class. Well they will not be doing that MOnday because the teacher is making them move up to the front of the class. Plus they do not call her to remind her when her driving class is because she has a day planner and makes the appointments herself and marks them and shows up. She is responsible. These kids are not, a lot of them are missing their driving lesson and they have to pay for it extra. Proves they are not learning anything in high school. They act like that in driving school, Lord only knows how they act in class at school.

How about setting a timer and ask him if he can try to get the work done before the timer goes off. My dd was doing saxon alg1 and the first part of the year it took her hours to do it, before the end of the year she was a lot faster. Plus maybe there are too many problems to do . maybe split them up. On a test like the PSAT ACT he cannot take that long to do the math.

Ours blows his leaves in to our yard, in the fall, then in the summer when we mow we have it go towards his house, He cannot say anything because I have a video on my camera showing what all he does wrong.
