Does anyone know of any live online writing classes that use IEW? I noticed that Veritas Press has one but that it is also linked to Shurley English and my ds has no experience with that. Any thoughts?
I know someone posted this once before. I even went to the site. But I must not have bookmarked it and I can't find it. Could someone please let me know of any sites that have book reviews similar to the movie and video game reviews that Focus on the Family does at pluggedinonline.com. Thanks so much!
Now that my son is moving up in the Singapore books I am starting to see the real benefit of all those bars they have you draw. I have been catching on slowly over the past year. He is on book 5b now and I am wondering what you people thinks mught be the best book for me to learn to understand this method and how to apply it to various word problems. I see one on the singapore math site but it is 29 dollars. Is there a cheaper way or do I need to tack this book on to my ever growing list of homeschool needs? Thanks!
I have done a search through the forum and all I see is responses from the author. Is there anyone out there who doesn't work for the company who can give a review? The video on the site is intriguing but the rest of the site I find extremely overwhelming. (am I the only one?) So any real life experience would be great!
Thanks!
I was very reluctant to read these as well but in the same year we were studying about King David and how he committed adultery with another man's wife (and then had him killed!) I figured that surely if our Bible curriculum doesn't hide the horrible motivations of people's hearts then I probably shouldn't either. We ended up having a great (but simple) conversation about these things and I feel it helped my kids (8 and 6 at the time) to be open about these things. In fact a year later a close family to us has been torn apart by adultery and it helped us to explain to them. They have also had the opportunity to see what kind of damage it has done to the kids (their friends) So I COMPLETELY understand and you should go with your gut AND kids do not NEED to read Homer BUT you could tie it in to some great discussions about God's intentiosn for family if you want...
Well, ours is up finally. We took a couple field trips and had a light week as far as academics go. I look forward to looking at everyone else's weeks! Link is in sig....
I can't even find Wii Active. Where does one buy that? Also is there a difference between Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus? I certainly don't want to buy anything that doesn't make me break a sweat...
Once again I am totally overwhelmed by the options when it comes to purchasing something for the Wii. So once again I turn to you ladies. I have heard that Wii Fit is great for spicing up winter exercise as I can only do so much elliptical before I die of boredom. What exactly is Wii Fit? Is it a game? When I search Amazon for it it shows me balance boards and yoga mats and NUMEROUS game discs from Biggest Loser to Sports Resort. What do I need to purchase exactly? I obviously don't want to spend a fortune. Which programs do you think are the best? Thanks in advance as always for your advice!
P.S. Just wanted to point out that I already have the Wii itself along with two regular remotes
I am determined to get a weekly report up for this week! I have missed the past two! Although I did write a tiny post about chronological history stemming from an incident this week.
I am trying to order Early Bird 1a and it says it's out of print! Is there a new book that is equivalent to that? I see something called Early Bird Kindergarten Math but I need the Pre-K one for a four year old who is determined to have her own workbook.
