  1. I have to agree with PP. It does take A LOT of liquid to work properly.
  2. I have the blender and it's okay. I wouldn't rave about it. It seems to me people that love their blenders have a seperate unit, like a Ninja or Vitamix.
  3. Well, you are in Canada and it is February....... Seriously, this is motivating me in my research for high school. Thank you! I'll be pulling my own lists together this month. So far, it has been endless searching while mumbling under my breath " I have NO idea what I'm doing!". My husband is starting to be very worried for me. I'll get it together soon. Just in time to plan what I want to do for my soon to be 1st grader.
  4. WOW!!!!!! :svengo: You are officially my new hero! I have been trying to decide what I want ds to do for high school and give him a list with options. Thank you! So....... are you thinking about doing this for biology? Or history? Just curious. :D
  5. My oldest was 11/12 years old last year. We did Winter Promise Adventures in the Sea and Sky. http://www.winterpromise.com/sea_sky.html It takes you thru time with the inventions for sea and sky and the history involved. It also includes the science (astronomy, meteorology, ocean animals, etc.) He LOVED it! And he is very picky. We could easily have done it a year younger. His brother was 4 and tagged along and learned a lot.
  6. Me, too!!!!!! That was the best question! I've often told my husband that people are really starting to annoy me. He watched part of Downton the one day with me. I pointed out the Dowager and said that's the one I keep scoring on the quizzes. He paid attention to her and then agreed with them. 100% agreed. :glare: I still think she's the funniest one out of the whole bunch.
  7. Have you read The Unhealthy Truth by Robyn O'Brien? Another eye opener, even though it could have been written better. I applaud her efforts and her willingness to fight this. As a mom of a kid with allergies, I am sick to death of "surprises" in our food!!!!!
  8. Found the link to the second personality quiz for Downton Abbey!!!!! http://www.guardian.co.uk/tv-and-radio/quiz/2011/sep/13/downton-abbey-character I had to work hard to find it. If you take it, I want to know the results! I took the 2nd test twice, both times I was the Dowager Countess.
  9. Okay, here's one. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/masterpiece/quizzes/personality-quiz/which-downton-abbey-job-is-right-for-you/ I don't know if I can find the other one, because it was from last season, but I'll try.
  10. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine! We make most everything from scratch to try and avoid as much junk as we can.
  11. We have a painter here painting the kitchen, so we are going out tonight!
  12. I went with B, but the airplanes are a close second. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
  13. PBS has twice posted personality quizzes about Downton Abbey. Both times I scored the Dowager Countess. I'll take it; I've been called worse. I actually think she's the funniest character on the show.
  14. I didn't even think of that! Definitely look over the link first.
  15. What time of year are you coming? This is only open April thru November, but it's pretty cool. http://www.visitpa.com/lackawanna-coal-mine-tour There's the train museum- http://www.nps.gov/stea/index.htm And we love the Crayola Factory!!!! http://www2.crayola.com/factory/your_visit.cfm The first two options are in Scranton (close to me). The third is in Easton.
  16. THANK YOU for such a detailed review!!!!!! I just have one question. On the TRISMS site they say-"All nine units of the IEW Teaching Writing Structure & Style are used in the writing assignments--Monologues, Semester Projects, Creative Writing, Writing from Pictures, Short Story, Essays, Compare and Contrast, Critiques, Paraphrase and Summary Do I still need to but something seperate from IEW?
  17. SO GLAD the CT was clear!!!!! Boys..... sigh. I feel sometimes it's like their job to give us heart attacks, and lots of gray hair.
  18. Praying. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: And you didn't mess up! You listened to the nurse and then you decided to go ahead and get him looked at. You listened to your mommy voice! That one that tells us when something is not right. I really hope everything is okay. A severe concussion- poor baby!
  19. I'm glad he's going jn. Hopefully you find out soon. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:
  20. I think you should bring him in. Just my opinion, but if you are anything like me, you won't be able to relax till you know for sure. Does he throw up easily? Neither of my boys have ever thrown up after hitting their head. That would worry me. Keep us updated. :grouphug:
  21. Thank you! I have a molasses oatmeal bread recipe that we love, but I'm always looking to switch to healthier ingredients in my baking and cooking.
