  1. Because I can’t like it, I’m quoting it. Soul fatigue is such a great way to put it. You’re supposed to be present in the moment, as they say. But some I’d rather check out for. Add up enough of those, and I’ve not been “here” for a while.
  2. Thinkwell has great companion books that you can add on to their online courses. You can look inside here.
  3. I hate simulator pics too. When I was looking for flooring for our new house, I would look up the exact product on Google Images to see real pics. I have to do the same thing for paint.
  4. As you said, “Doesn’t answer the question.” Are you seriously accusing me of being dishonest? Maybe STAHP that?
  5. You’re accusing me of being dishonest? And not having positive intentions? I’m offended, but mostly confused, by your accusations here.
  6. I find this bizarrely aggressive, so I’m out. 🙂
  7. The same evidence you have to support that Harry’s risk profile can’t possibly be exacerbated by his kill #? So zero?
  8. LOL You’re making my point. His book profits are primarily based on his parentage/connection to power, not his own (military service) deeds.
  9. Not getting where you’re getting that… I think the details about his military service are not the major selling point of the book. I’m not drawing a link to his security expenses.
  10. Not really a bold statement. I think the details about his family are salacious enough to get the money flowing. I doubt many people bought the book to hear about his Taliban kill number.
  11. No, and neither does Harry. Further, I think it’s a sign of immaturity to do so.
  12. Are you referring to him discussing the number he killed here? Because as a retired army wife and retired army daughter, I knew/know no one who does throw numbers or specifics out in anything other than a small group of trusted friends who have been through the same. Like Harry, DH is an Apache pilot, and he served 3 tours in Iraq. He is retired now, but still works with active duty Apache pilots and and recent retirees, and says he knows no one who talks like this.
  13. Most of my pots have nothing underneath, because I can't be bothered with planter saucers. I take them to the sink (if they're small enough) or patio table (for the big guys) to water them. I give them a good soaking, and after they've finished dripping/draining and are dry on bottom, I take them back to their homes.
  14. With the 60’s oak, I think something with brown tones would look better. https://www.lowes.com/pd/SMARTCORE-Ultra-8-Piece-11-97-in-x-23-62-in-Tivoli-Travertine-Luxury-Vinyl-Plank-Flooring/1000779124 ETA: LOL Sorry didn’t see you said it looks gray but is actually brown.
  15. I have Nucore LVP from Floor & Decor. Mine is a 9” x 6’ plank, so not what you would need. It’s been in almost 4 years and has worn like iron. We have big dogs and I drag furniture around a lot. Nucore has different levels of thickness/wear and also has some that are not wood look. Do a scratch test on LVP for sure, but keep in mind that something that initially looks like a scratch might just be the top, protective layer being scratched. Once, after pushing a piece of furniture about 20’, I turned around and saw what looked like a terrible scratch and freaked out, but I just slightly scratched the top layer and you couldn’t see it at all when I brushed it away. Scary and weird, but that’s why you want to pay for thicker layers in LVP. I’m testing mine apparently. LOL
  16. I lol’ed here because some flooring now can. When picking flooring for my new home a few years back, I did the bucket test a pp mentioned, left a plank submerged overnight, drowned it in my favorite homemade cat urine cleaner that has a hydrogen peroxide base, etc. It survived everything with no physical changes minus discoloration (from the peroxide) of the cork underlay. It is amazing to not have to treat every spill like an emergency like I did in our previous home that had an older laminate.
  17. No worries! I know what you mean about not feeling right about passing it on. The owner of my favorite restaurant in Germany gave me one of her recipes the day before I flew out because she knew I loved it so much. After DD was born (and we stayed in the hospital for 5 looong days!), we stopped there for takeout on our way home, and she and all her daughters came out to the car and said a Turkish blessing for new babies. 🥰 I swore I would never give her recipe to anyone else. Never have, never will! Thank you so much! Yes, I do have a great (huge!) Mexican grocery store with fresh masa and literally any other ingredient I could need, no matter how obscure. And I do have an instant pot. Love the idea of rajas. I have a thing for poblanos that started with chiles relleno. My library has that book! I’ve placed a hold. Thanks for that!
  18. Thank you so much! I’m open to any. Red is DH’s favorite kind, with either pork or beef.
  19. Anyone have one? This may be the year I finally attempt this favorite food of DH's.
  20. Maybe an immersion blender? Where you could stir the mixture and blend repeatedly to get the pellets close to the blade? Otherwise, I wonder about a mortar and pestle being better for the task and cheaper. I’ve never owned one, but I dream of being the kind of person who grinds my spices that way. LOL I love hearing about you and your birdies.
  21. LEGO Luke’s Landspeeder, for the little boy in him the LEGO Skywalker Saga PS4 game to play with the kids, to bring out the child in all of them (almost 20, 18, and 16) a new set of OXO cookie scoops because he swears we had one (I think he’s right) but now none of us can find it a caddy for the family room to store the remotes and our reading glasses because I am forever after him for monopolizing our shared table with open reading glasses sprawled about, lol The Funko Ted Lasso game A Higher Call and The Boys in the Boat books Golf passes An applicator for butcher block oil
  22. Is there any downside/liability to being on the checking account?
  23. What document? We did find his will when we were there in November, but didn’t read it. Doi. Stroke of brilliance on our part. We just noted it was from 1992, and I sincerely doubt it gave any permissions for something like this. His medical paperwork? My dad was unconscious when admitted so would not have been able to name my sister or anyone else. I’ll ask, but the hospital has had him since mid-October and only ever allowed my mom to make decisions. And that is with them having all the paperwork from my parents’ shared family doctor. I definitely need a notary. I have had POA for DH many times, since he was active duty Army deploying frequently. It made things a lot easier. Of course, so did having a slew of military lawyers to ask questions.
  24. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this, and the link. Do you know if there is one that would allow my mom to transfer her power to make my father's medical decisions to my sister? She is overwhelmed by it, and she and I have 100% trust in my sister to do it.
  25. No official diagnosis yet. Alzheimer's has just been ruled out. And no one will challenge the POA. I am certain of that.
