  1. i don't think I will be working out today. My 1 yr old has stomach bug-rough night for us both. I am tired & cranky & now have tons of sick laundry to do plus normal life stuff. Maybe I can fit it in later but I am not going to stress over it.
  2. I totally understand what you are saying. It is a fundamental difference I guess. Or regional thing? We are in a rural area in a mostly rural state. I know several people who have inside dogs but the VAST majority around here have outside only dogs. It never crossed my mind to bring him inside. I have 5 kids & that is enough for me under one roof! We live on 2 acres in the country, surrounded by pastures, creeks, & ponds. I wanted a dog that would bark the instant they heard tires on our gravel. Our dog only barks if a turtle, snake, skunk, or another dog enters the property haha! But he is good with the kids & we enjoy his company. FTR-I tried to tell DH that a beagle isn't a guard dog but he didn't listen obviously. I think he just always wanted a beagle.
  3. Oh & my dog is an outside dog. He would not know how to act inside. He is a puppy & still chews up stuff. He would destroy the inside of my house!
  4. Well they have ended up being buddies & playing together & I saw my dog trying to reciprocate the humping (which was actually funny bc he is about a third of the size). I just don't want to see it or have the kids seeing it. I mean-every once in a while I get. But this was constant! My MIL has a teacup Yorkie that does that to a stuffed animal so I know sometimes they just do that. But I didn't know dogs would try to do that to another dog that wasn't in heat or even female! The owner said that the dog is at a trainers house & he would have that guy call me. Haven't heard from him yet. He knocked over my trash can while we were gone & now I get to pick up trash in the morning. If I were the owner I wouldn't be happy that my dog was missing!
  5. That makes the other dogs around want to come hump him? He is a male beagle. Our neighbors dog was a male & constantly chased him around trying to hump him. That dog disappeared (along with our female beagle). A huge male hound showed up this morning & is trying to have a go at my poor dog. I called number on tag but haven't heard back. I can't let kids outside bc of the graphic nature of the problem. Our poor pooch had found a hiding place but I feel bad for him. Why would two male dogs want my male dog?! Poor guy. He looks miserable.
  6. I had trouble getting on the forums yesterday & early this AM. I was about to panic lol! Yesterday I did Miracle Mile but did it twice in a row-It ended up being a good level for me. Today I did say 3 of Fit in 15-body weight basics. It was great to help me with form & names of exercises. I feel more sore this week than I have so far. Guess the workouts are working.
  7. I started Jessica Smith Fit in 15 on YouTube. Day 1 was Jump Start Cardio. My arms feel a little jelly like & heavy but I enjoyed the workout overall.
  8. I am new to exercise but I think I have a similar personality. I ended up just doing it. Whenever, wherever-just do it! I am enjoying Leslie Sansone & Jessica Smith. The latter has tons of YouTube videos & a website-jessicasmithtv.com I am about to start her Fit in 15 series. Neither ladies take up too much floor space. Or requires lots of jumping around. I only do 20-30 min a day but at least I am moving purposefully! I will ramp it up when I can but something I enjoy (and I do enjoy both of these ladies) is better than slogging through OR doing nothing.
  9. Soror-yea for smaller clothes! I bet you will feel great wearing items that actually fit! Your others must be swimming on you! Negin-Turkish soap opera marathon sounds fun!! I did Jessica Smith's Cardio Ballet this morning. I was not very excited to workout & the video didn't help. Not sure why. But I did it-heavily modified. Tomorrow will be rest day & then I plan to start Jessica Smith's Fit in 15 series. I will sub my Miracle Mile DVD for her walking stuff though. I feel like I need to try to get my $9 out of the thing. Lol. I am also eyeing Blogilates beginner 2.0 calendar. Maybe after the Fit in 15. I have lost 10 lbs as of today. I am really proud of myself for sticking with the exercise. I normally do 2 days & quit. So yea for me!
  10. I did Miracle Mile again today. Kids must be getting used to it. They left me alone. I upped my intensity with it. Lifted legs higher & stuff like that. I love the energy that morning exercise gives me!
  11. I would try the Ezekiel bread first.. I live in a tiny town & we have 2 stores that carry it. Then I would try your old homemade bread recipe. Then I would try the homemade sourdough bread suggested by a PP. Sourdough waffles, pancakes, English muffins, etc are so delicious. I wouldn't quit bread if it's that important to your daily life & if you are feeling hungry all the time. Even if it's temporary. Life is too short haha
  12. I know what you mean about 3 years old-that has always seemed like the age when I feel sane again. I have a 3 yr old now & she will play by herself, I don't worry so much about her safety, etc. but she is still pretty needy. And wants to 'help' me & still crawls up in my lap even if I have hot coffee & food. I also have older ones & a 1 yr old. I have to wait to do any paperwork type stuff until 1 year old is asleep. And I never get time to myself. So hugs to you! And thanks Tibbie for your wise words. Some days I just want to scream from being talked to & touched so much. But I know these are important years. Oh-I do tell them 'I am taking a break right now for 10 min. Anything you ask me-the answer will be no. Leave me alone for these 10 min.' I do that at my meal times (except dinner which is around the table). And I lock the bathroom door when I shower & put on makeup (which is only when DH is home). I ignore any questions, banging, crying, etc.
  13. Thanks oh wise Hive! I lost 25 lbs 2 years ago but it wasn't through calorie counting. I only cut back on added sugar & it was a slow steady loss. Took 6 mos. then I ended up pregnant & gained it all back. I wanted to lose a little faster this time.
  14. I did Jessica Smiths Cardio Flow this morning. It was supposed to be a gentle calming type workout I think. Too bad all the kiddos were up & misbehaving! I kept yelling-stop that! Don't touch your sister! Put that down! Turn off that water now! Kinda ruined the vibe. Plus the workout was a little hard for me. It was pretty easy to modify but I felt a little discouraged that I couldn't keep up-fitness level or coordination. At least I tried right?
  15. I know. I almost didn't post it bc it seems like a good problem to have. But I have never lost this much this fast (unless you count the last stomach bug I had). I don't want to screw up my system! My DH always loses super fast. So maybe it isn't a big deal. It will be hard though when the scale stops moving so quickly.
  16. I started using My Fitness Pal to track calories 11 days ago. I added in 20-30 min of low impact aerobic exercise a week ago. I have lost 9 lbs. I needed to lose 50. I had planned on losing 2 lbs. a week. Is this just what happens when you have a lot to lose? Or am I not taking in enough calories? I have never counted calories before or exercised more than 2 days In a row. MFP gave me 1670 calories-some days I go a little over & some days I am under. I was hungry first few days but not much any more (afternoons are when I feel hungry so I try to eat something low cal then).
  17. I have this issue! I feel like my cart is loaded down with fruits & veggies and we always run out! I never thought about the actual numbers though. Wow!
  18. In my defense-the web jokes don't bother me. But I don't like things being done to me. Like one time DH told me he joined the Army. Not funny. That's the kind of stuff I am talking about. He also likes to jump out at me in the dark or stuff like that. I thought the Tom Brady gag was funny. But if I was Tom Brady's wife & wasn't in on the joke then I wouldn't think it was funny AT ALL.
  19. Leslie Sansone's Miracle Mile today. I am thinking of starting Jessica smiths fit in 15 on YouTube. I don't have much wifi data but I think it will be worth it.
  20. I don't like that game but my hubby sure does! Makes me nuts! I usually get cranky & say 'I don't care how cool it's supposed to be next week-I am hot!!' And then go turn on the ac! When we moved the ac here didn't work. We didn't have the funds to fix it so I had to do without for a while. I have never been so miserable. In my defense-I live in the humid south. And I was pregnant.
  21. I love veggies (not fruit so much) but I still have to make a conscious effort to include them in my diet. It's easy for me to let them be an after thought. For me it starts at the grocery store-I try to take my time in produce section & buy double what I need/want! And now that it's spring I will go to farmers market every week and attempt to grow some things at home. There is nothing better than a fresh summer tomato! I keep a wide variety of frozen veggies. Currently the Normandy blend is my favorite. I steam it & add in a little butter & salt/pepper. I buy spring mix salad blend so I have an easy veggie for dinner. I drink a smoothie every morning with spinach or kale & berries. Just to echo what others have said-roasted veggies are the BOMB! I could eat them every day all day. Any veggie roasted is delish! But like I said-i have to be intentional about it. good luck! You can do this!!
  22. I don't like being teased, pranked, etc. My DH says I should lighten up. Whatever.
  23. Just finished Jessica Smith's Cardio Dance from a set I bought. It was my first time to do it but moves were easy to understand. I had to modify a few times bc I just don't have the strength & endurance yet. The baby slept a little later so I was able to focus today. I wish I had unlimited data so I could stream videos. Does anyone know which Jessica Smith workout would be considered 'for beginners'? I really liked her but I think most of the workouts on these discs will be too hard for me now. I get discouraged easily when I can't keep up.
  24. We were posting at the same time! But what you said-exactly!
