  1. take him/her for a drive in your car in the rain. turn the wipers on and put him/her on the dashboard and watch him/her chase the windshield wipers. put the cap of an aerosol can on the kitchen floor. he/she will nose it all over the floor like a hockey puck.
  2. when we needed to clip our ferret's nails, we always held up a banana for her to snack on. she loved it, and never had a clue we were clipping her or just plain didn't care.
  3. Dusti is a female, tan, shih poo. Pepper and Lily and sister gray tabbies.
  4. elemenopea because that's how i said the alphabet when i was a kid. i thought elemeno was one letter.
  5. I remember getting my grandmother on a ride there - a wheel that spins that you stand up on.
  6. I bought the younger dd the small Tampax Pearl tampons. Put them in her bathroom a year ago. Finally one day last month she tried them again and did fine.
  7. One was named after Christa McAuliffe, but we spell her name differently. The other dd was named after a friend of mine in college who died of AIDS after contracting it from her husband who was abusing drugs. She left behind a three-year-old boy.
  8. I never bought the TWSS (videos for the teacher) from IEW. I just watched the lessons (Student Writing Intensive) with my kids, and corrected their papers according to what Mr. Pudewa required.
  9. We have even sent her to a counselor. She insists there are spirits (4 black, one white) in her room and the front of the house. We are Christians and have read Psalms and left her Bible open to Psalms at night. We used a sound machine for awhile, but it wasn't really effective. She sleeps in our room occasionally or on the couch. As long as she is not in the back of the house she is fine. We have even discussed moving her room to the guest room in front of the house.
  10. I agree. Our male cat died of this. The vet saved him once for about $500 (emergency nighttime clinic), but it reaccurred and he died in about 30 minutes. Not trying to bum you out or anything, just educate ya.
  11. I would have gladly used the next book, but at the time, the second book was not out yet and I couldn't wait, so I went with TruthQuest instead. The second book has more grammar in it, and the instructions are in much more detail. I will tell you that do not let the vocabulary words overwelm you. It is not meant for your kids to look up and define every word. Dorian put them in there to show you some words that your kids might not be familiar with and might need some explanation or work with, but not all of them.
  12. I dreamt that a helicopter dropped Spelling Power books from the air, and when I went outside the next day there were hundreds and hundreds of orange Spelling Power books hanging from the trees from strings in our front yard.
  13. just wanted you to know that I didn't even like Anna Nicole. Deaths that affected me of people I liked or admired: Brian Keith, Michael Landon, John Denver, Princess Diana
  14. my kids say that their favorite year and a half we did was when we did AWOA.
  15. this is going to sound really stupid, but Anna Nicole Smith. She died when my OCD was REALLY bad. My brain got in a loop and for weeks afterwards I surfed the internet many times a day to make sure she really died. You would think that all the media coverage would have proved it, but, hey, that's OCD for you!
  16. my dd uses SOS Algebra with a tutor. It shows one problem on the screen at a time.
  17. my youngest always said she had ecstatic in her hair.
  18. my mom is a veracious reader (one book each night) and she is a pathetic speller.
  19. and my mom was born and raised in Evansville.
  20. from when I was little -- that if I kept forcing myself to burp, that my heart would come up my throat.
  21. We love our ShiPoo. She is two years old. Loving, fun dog. However, she is still not housebroken, and we did the crate thing. We thought she would have the intelligence of a poodle, but she seems to have missed out on that trait. But what she lacks in intelligence, she makes up in darn cuteness!
  22. when I was a teenager at a teen Bible study, one of the guys had a large bump on his neck. We all put our hands on his neck and prayed and the bump was gone. That was a miracle to me and had a part in my being saved.
