  1. Elastigirl, I love that idea! Thanks for sharing it!
  2. Thanks so much for posting about Rover, I'm going to download it right now!
  3. Bluegoat, I really enjoyed Cards on the Table too. My favorites are And Then There Were None and The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. When I started reading Christie, I read all the Poirots, then all the Marples. I enjoy the mysteries, but what really sucks me in are the descriptions of post-war England.
  4. Here is what you get when you ask Google Maps for walking directions from The Shire to Mordor: Of course, one person can simply walk into Mordor: And for those looking forward to The Hobbit movie, here is the most recent production video with some gorgeous shots of The Shire:
  5. Katie, I don't post much, but wanted to give you a hug :grouphug:. We had some very rough years (especially the pre- and early teen years), but my Aspie is 21 and holidays are so easy now! It gets better!
  6. I'm praying for little Owen and his family. Please continue to post updates.
  7. Muir Woods is beautiful, I think it's definitely worth a visit. Also, you might like to visit the Exploratorium, the California Academy of Sciences, the de Young Museum, and the Legion of Honor. My younger two boys (8 and 12) think Alcatraz is really interesting too. The ferry ride out there is fun too (although it can be pretty chilly in March). Enjoy your trip!
  8. I am so very sorry. I will be praying for you as well.
  9. Turn it off (or if it's already off, keep it off), remove the battery, and get it dry using one of the following methods described here (but I'd leave it for longer than the 24 hours recommended in the linked article if you can stand the wait): http://www.zdnet.com/blog/apple/how-to-survive-an-iphone-liquid-submersion-hint-its-not-rice/10669 Rice worked for us. Hope it works for you too! Please let us know how it goes. (Rice also worked for my daughter's iPod nano after she accidentally ran it through the washing machine!)
  10. You might want to look at the 6+1 Trait Rubrics here: http://educationnorthwest.org/resource/464 Hope this helps, Teresa
