  1. The big farm equipment works “selectively “ thanks to nephew, but no one is interested in taking the ability to drive a car away.
  2. The cafe good neighbors doc martin the detectorists frontier house or colonial house I second the studio c skits on YouTube
  3. Hurray!!!! 🎉🎊🎉
  4. I looked at that yesterday and when reading it it felt like a lengthy process. Something 60-90 days after notification they will have to take a drivers test? And they only guarantee anonymity to the doctor, not anyone else. It says you must be prepared to sign a release statement knowing your name will be shared. Unless I didn’t understand what I was reading correctly.
  5. She’s doing fine. The evening he went to the hospital I went and stayed with her. She watched me make dinner and then took a wild hair and “washed” the dishes and wiped the counter, so that was something. She didn’t ask about him at all while I was there, not sure if she did any day after that.
  6. I suggested that to dh, but he said sil will not agree to that because she is afraid fil will get mad. So if I took them while I was over there, sil would not back me up.
  7. That’s what everyone is worried about. He also told him no stairs but he broke that as soon as he got home. His decision making skills are not on point. Found out today that he took mil to church last Sunday dressed but with no shoes on and didn’t realize it til she was limping over the gravel parking lot. He took her all the way into church that way and all the way back out when it was over. sil let that slip today, so just wonder how many other bonehead things he has done that we don’t know about. Dh was like how are none of you embarrassed about this?!? Most of all fil?!? I am even more concerned about the driving as there is no plan for care other than who can come over when. So time with just the two of them there. I hadn’t volunteered at all, but sil did ask dh if I planned to come over and cook their meals for the week, which I am. Getting out of bed and to bathroom with at lost a walker was the requirement to go home. He says today feels so much better than yesterday.
  8. As far as I know, the cardiologist said at his age and with the testing they did she wasn’t worried about it. I don’t know if it improved or not.
  9. Doctors decided that it must be vertigo, sent him home saying he’s not allowed to drive until he gets cleared by pc. Getting around with a walker. So glad not something life threatening
  10. Oh my! That sounds frightening. I’ve never heard of the voice change as a stroke sign. Fil did have a mini stroke about 4 years ago. Not sure how it was diagnosed. They told sil they’ve pretty much ruled out stroke, but will definitely keep that information in the back of my mind
  11. Poor guy, after 3 doses of whatever anti-dizzy medicine he was able to stand up and walk with help to the bathroom. Still no word on cause, he had ct and ct with contrast yesterday. Doctor came in today and ordered an x ray. They’ve pretty much ruled out coronary issues or stroke. Now looking at neck before deciding it’s regular vertigo. Keeping him another night for observation. If nothing else comes up they will release him and he needs to see his own doctor and if it’s vertigo, could clear up by midweek. He’s in good spirits and honestly I’m sure he’s getting better rest in the hospital than he was at home.
  12. Still can’t figure out what is wrong so going to admit him.
  13. @KSeraHe has not. I guess several hours ago they gave him some kind of anti-dizzy medication (getting this second hand) but he was still, a few minutes ago when I was there dropping of dh, too dizzy to sit up right or stand and his heart rate is in the upper 40s. Waiting on all the results of the tests and ct scan.
  14. Went to er with severe vertigo and nausea. Heart rate is at 50 resting. Running tests. Thought originally might be dehydration but several hours of iv fluids not making a difference. Today is last day for aide, sil didn’t follow up on the two numbers aide gave her as potential replacements yet and bil has covid in his house. I think the wheels are about to come off for a while.
  15. Dh and sil are waiting for the squad to come, fil is very sick. I don’t know any details. Thanks
  16. Does anyone have a preference of the Natchez cruise or the creole queen? Also, best place to get a po’boy in New Orleans?
  17. Sorry, poorly worded. She laughed at us while looking at our ids when my friend asked if the daiquiris were real.
  18. Just to be clear we took them back to the hotel, we didn’t drink them in the car!
  19. Anytime dh cannot find something (which is often now) he sings that song! If one of the kids, my youngest is 13!, knows where it is, they sing back I think I saw your book next to the chair or whatever. Family culture is funny
  20. We were sitting in huge drive thru line thinking maybe they are like daiquiri flavored slushies etc and remarking how there were like 8 cars in line. When we get to the window this girl asks to see our id’s and said Ohio and Wisconsin? All surprised. I’m pretty sure if we didn’t look like middle aged women she would have thought they were fake. My friend says, so these are real daiquiris with alcohol in them?!? And the girl laughed and said “only in Louisiana, right?” And took our order. We pulled out of line and of course start googling because seriously, how can to go cups of alcohol be legal, but it is! She ordered a margarita flavored and they smeared salt all over the plastic lid! Craziest thing!
  21. Why did none of you all tell me about drive through daiquiri places! We had to stop at one to see if that was actually what it was! This girl with a gorgeous accent looked at our Ohio and Wisconsin liscenses and laughed when we asked are they real!
  22. I’m not hating it though, I’ve got our balcony doors open to listen to all the noise. The marching band is very good! If my friend were here I’d want to go find it, but don’t want to venture out on my own not knowing exactly where I’m going. Do people live here in the French quarter or is it mostly businesses and hotels? I don’t know how you could live here and get anywhere in a car
  23. It is so loud here! I can here the music from the different bars, people yelling and cheering, it is very very noisy! I’m two blocks from bourbon street and it sounds like there is a college drum line out there somewhere
  24. Oh my gosh! It was fun, the food was fantastic, I learned two new things and we set bananas foster on fire! The hands on cooking class was an absolute blast. There were 7 of us and the teacher and it was just fun. We made chicken and andouille gumbo, bbq shrimp and grits and bananas foster with crepes.
