    In my non-Catholic understanding of what it commonly believed/perceived about the Catholic church, a personal relationship is one that doesn't require a priest to take our ''confession" and have the priest tell us what our penance is and then he tells us God has forgiven us. We talk to God for ourselves, and ask to be forgiven because of Christ's sacrifice, not because we showed we were sorry enough by an action. We don't feel the need to "pray" to dead saints in heaven for them to pray for us to God. We ask God directly. And what other posters have said, a daily awareness and familiarity, without losing the awe of holiness, and "relationship." Something you have to work on, just like you would have to work on a relationship with someone else. Getting to know Jesus, His words, the Bible, opening yourself to the direction of God through the Holy Spirit.

    I don't know if anyone else has said it yet, but I think the worst part of being married to a man with ADD is I can't tell if he's being thoughtless or has truly forgotten. And heaven forbid he say "hey, I've got ADD, remember? It happens sometimes. It wasn't intentional, but I'm still sorry." I would much prefer that to him letting me think he's being a jerk. :glare:

    It seams that the last thread I started (about an article concerning a CA school) has been erased. I am truly sorry for breaking any rules, or starting something that caused other to break rules. It won't happen again. :sad:

    I had a dream recently in which I was in a situation where if I was in real life I hoped I'd do the right thing, even though it would have been really hard. In the dream, even though I was offered a substantial bribe not to, I did the right thing. It was connected with something that had been happening with people close to me. I felt really good about it, that my subconscious would do the right thing, too.

    My husband has this problem a few times a year. He's been to the doctor, I think they did an ultrasound, and they pretty much decided it was his sciatic acting up. Especially when it goes down the leg.
