  1. I didn't vote, as I have no experience hs'ing anything but informal preschool, but am curious - are you wondering if you can finish in the specified time using K12? I am evaluating K12 for my son's 1st grade year next year, and was told to expect him to be working for 5-6 hours per day. Just wondering if that is accurate - or perhaps you are no longer using K12?
  2. We moved from a newer townhome to an older single family home, knowing that there was a lot of work needed to update it to make it seem like ours. What we didn't anticipate was how hard it would be to do all of that work with 3 very small children. I regret it now, but at a different point in our lives, it might be doable.
  3. I've only done the preschool cores, but I have got them piecemeal used and through the library, and it's worked fine for us. I just don't have the budget to spend several hundred dollars for preschool.
  4. I just use the BSF lesson, although occasionally I'll do a topical study from YouVersion.com. I'm loving the Isaiah study!
  5. I also have an 8 GB Touch, and it is adequate, but not too much. I do rotate movies, etc. that I put on for road trips and such, because there isn't enough room for everything I'd like to have.
  6. I highly recommend Bethel University in MN, both as an alumna and former staff member. It's a wonderful institution, and the only reason I'm not working there now is because I'm home with my children. I believe the financial aid staff to be very willing to work with families, and there is a strong MK/TCK group on campus. My brother-in-law and DH still get together with friends from that group from when we were students.
  7. Mine is worth its weight in gold. It's one of the most useful devices I've ever owned. I use it for email, FB, tracking my runs, watching Netflix, occupying my kids in waiting room situations, listening to music, as a calendar, for making video calls, taking quick snapshots/videos, as a web browser, etc, etc, etc.
  8. Yes, I did. Try logging onto your Groupon account and see if it's there.
  9. I took Spanish and French in college, and had one class right after the other. It was challenging for my mind to switch between the two, for sure!
  10. Well, until recently, I didn't have a choice. My husband had chronic pain issues and had to reduce his hours to part-time. I had to work full-time, or we wouldn't eat. We already live very frugally. It broke my heart every day to go to work. Once his health improved to the point where he could increase his hours, I did quit. And while it is a financial sacrifice, I love being home with my kids.
  11. Our Costco has always been very good. No complaints at all! It's definitely better than the Sam's Club near us.
