  1. No, I don't have any IRL friends like that. I do have one friend who I used to confide in, until I discovered she was talking behind my back. We're still "friends" but I don't feel like I can be open with her. I have a few WTM friends that I feel like I could talk to about anything. There are many people here who care about you and I'm sure would be happy to talk to you privately. It sounds like you are really having a hard time with your dh, and while friendships are great for venting, I think professional guidance might be a good idea. :grouphug:
  2. Have you heard about the anti-Westboro fundraisers? Some communities have had counter-protests which raise thousands of dollars. The money is donated to organizations like the Holocaust Museum and LGBT groups. Then they send thank you cards to WBC explaining how much money they raised and who benefited. I think it's brilliant.
  3. There are lots of possible causes, and you need more of a workup. If you want to research it, the technical term for heavy bleeding is menorrhagia. I'd also recommend a second opinion.
  4. I would be having a conversation with the coach or principal or both. Bullying is unacceptable and should be dealt with by the adults. It's not tattling to call the bullies out. And I wouldn't expect a young kid to handle it themselves, especially when it's older, bigger kids picking on him. My son had issues with bullies. The school administration got involved and took it very seriously. It was handled well.
  5. The incubation period for rabies is typically long. CDC WebMD
  6. This is true. For me, it would depend on location and whether there has been rabies reported recently. I would suggest calling your state health department and ask to speak with someone knowledgeable about rabies.
  7. :crying: Poor spidey. He won't hurt you. How about catching him in a butterfly net and letting him go?
  8. Who is doing that? The students are the victims. I don't see anyone criticizing them.
  9. I think it was Amy in Orlando's recipe. Crock Pot Italian Beef Sandwiches 3 -4 lb. chuck or rump roast -- trimmed of fat 1 package dry Good Seasons Italian salad dressing mix 1/2 of a 16 oz. jar pepperoncini peppers -- including juice (or more to taste- I just dump the whole thing in but usually have a bigger roast) 1 cup water and 1 package au jus gravy packet OR 1 can beef broth sliced cheese (swiss or provolone) kaiser rolls Mix all ingredients together in a slow cooker or crockpot. Cook several hours (5-8 hours) on low. When meat is done (at lest 5 hours), shred it and put back in its juices to finish the cooking time. The more time it has to soak up the juices after you shred it, the better! Put shredded meat on rolls. Top with favorite cheese and put the top roll on. Bake in the oven or put under the broiler until roll is toasted and cheese is melted. Serve with a bowl of the juices and peppers for dipping.
  10. :iagree:Also, I would suggest he think it through and make sure he has something to clean the knife with before he uses it. But it wouldn't be a big deal to me.
  11. I could if I had to but it would make life difficult and would really be a hardship. How much money would it save? How long until the house is paid off if you keep internet? Does the difference really matter in the long run? What sacrifice is your husband willing to make? I would be very unhappy if my dh asked me to give up the internet if he wasn't willing to give up something equally important.
  12. The texts used in schools have become much more simplified over time. It shouldn't be a surprise that vocabulary has declined as a result. Schoolbook Simplification and Its Relation to the Decline in SAT-Verbal Scores

  16. Sorry, I should have explained better. I was thinking it could be taken by your doctor and be part of your medical chart.
  17. I'm so relieved that you had a definitive test. Would it be helpful to take pictures when your arm looks abnormal, in case you have to change doctors at some point? :grouphug:
