  1. Do you have a link to the advanced spelling lists? I could not find them on the website. Also if we are planning on using everything in the program (composition, grammar, etc.) except replacing the spelling lists with the advanced lists, what makes the workbook unnecessary? Thanks so much!
  2. Some years are just tough! But I will echo looking into D3. That made a HUGE difference to break the cycle for us when we were having more illness than usual. We have also found essential oils blends to work really well for keeping germs at bay here this year. One person would get a bug and no one else would.
  3. SWB's audio on literature is really good. http://peacehillpress.com/what-is-literary-analysis-mp3.html
  4. Just take it one lesson at a time. Look at the Textbook and then read through the HIG for that chapter. It may not be as intimidating. Did you also get the student workbook?
  5. We can get a State ID at our motor vehicle's office.
  6. Thank you. I'm really concerned about the work load of the class, but I suspect she may step up to the challenge.
  7. Thanks. I signed up dd16 today for Latin 1a and Amy Barr is scheduled to be the teacher. Glad to hear they are all good.
  8. Our VideoText material had a solutions manual. What module and problems don't have solutions worked out?
  9. My dh does give me feedback. But I also have had to work really hard at not trying to live up to the ideals I THINK he is expecting. If he has an issue with something, he will bring it up. If he doesn't, I just have to rest in the fact that I am doing my best and he has no issue with what is occurring. I am a mess when I try mindreading and live based on what I think is being expected.
  10. I just have history books be used as reading practice in 1st grade. Now starting in 3rd grade, highly recommend Trail Guide to Learning!
  11. CLE Reading and LA are different programs although we have never used the beginning levels to know if they overlap more. You might be able to tell more from the Light Unit samples on the clp.org site.
  12. Thanks. I definitely think Level 2 can be plenty for high school if you make sure the writing assignments are deep enough. I could see additional history reading being good to beef it up. I like Level 3 too but they don't have Modern and this dd wouldn't be ready for it anyway. (I did a review on Level 3 Middle Ages and it is a lot of work.) HO is definitely in the running for next year.
  13. I do need to take a look at History Odyssey and see if their Modern level has enough for both.
  14. Thanks for the bump. Simply Charlotte Mason does both and we will use the next volume if needed. I was just wanting to see if there were any others out there.
  15. What programs cover both World and American History together? Specifically looking one that would be 1/2 credit in the second half of American and 1/2 credit in the second half of World History.
  16. This is great information. Thank you. Just what I needed to know.
  17. You might check Uplifting Education. http://upliftingeducation.com/
  18. So you pay the course fee ($575) and then have to also buy the kit for apx $70?
  19. I looked at the WWE 4 sample and although I like the skills it is teaching, I can see the assignments going over like a lead balloon. I will print out the WWS samples and look them over in more detail to see if I think she is ready.
  20. Does your student excel or struggle with writing?
  21. Could Writing With Skill be started in 4th grade and done half speed or would it be too advanced?
