  1. I don't think you are wrong to feel the way you do about permissions and such but I also wouldn't be surprised that other people don't parent that way. This one isn't right or wrong, just a parenting style. I am more like the parent who would have been a little surprised that my son's word that it was okay to ride with you wasn't enough. My kids have always been in lots of sports and activities and I rarely know the parents. We carpool a lot and I rarely have to have conversations about it but it wouldn't seem odd if someone felt we needed to. :)

  2. That I'd somehow accidentally stepped through a portal into a bad country song?

It's a pretty cliche joke. If it was a coincidence, it is funny. If the dad was trying to make a point, it's a lame and rather retrograde one.

Much more eloquently stated than I was going to. He thinks he is cute and is enjoying telling the guys a work he did this. Maybe not a guy with a gigantic IQ.

  3. Went to yoga yesterday, 90 minute hot yoga class. There were only 3 of us there and one of the attendees happened to be a realtor I know and love to work with when I get a chance. It was so nice to get a chance to relate on a personal level. The class was just hard but a small class made it feel like I had a personal training session and it was just wonderful. Finding this yoga studio has transformed my non existent practice! I am trying to get my butt out of bed to go for a run this morning. I hope all of you get a great work out in today and that you feel beautiful all day long.

  4. I made wine a couple of times many years ago. We had a cherry tree in our yard and a homeschooling friend who knew how to make wine show me how to do it. I think I made 2-3 batches... then the tree died!! I couldn't believe it. We had it all those years and then, when I really started to use the fruit (it was sour cherry), it up and died on me. Anyway, I did enjoy making wine, but I'm not much of a wine drinker, so I never really pursued it further. My husband enjoyed the fruit of my labors though.

Oh, dang. That is terrible. :( I just visited MIchigan last month for the first time and ended up in Traverse City. Awesome, awesome place, by the way. I bought some cherry wine! I have never had it but now I will have to open it!

That's the book I used to get started and I have now started using recipes I find online and adding my own hop ideas to it. I love hoppy beer. Yes, I have a near by home brewing supply store! The first batch was good but I used a kit I bought there and followed the directions. My last batches have been all grain. I buy my grain there, too.

  6. I know people who do it, and with some skill. :D They are just quiet about it.

I'd consider mead before moving on to distilling though... seems a right of passage.

I am loving the beer making process. The history behind the different beers is fascinating. I made an India Pale Ale and dry hopped it heavily with citra hops. We had lots of people over at our office for a little celebration. I had a 5 gallon keg of my brew and a big ice barrel filled with other, more well known micro brews and no one drank the bottled beer! It was fun!

  7. I own a business. I DON'T have a restaurant that's open all night. I am NO LONGER a waitress working every shift there is. I guess my thoughts are that this REALLY isn't a big deal. Certainly not even worth all this conversation. I think if you want people calling you when they disapprove of a conversation in the restaurant, so be it. Good for you. If you want to be graceful about something that offends you, tell the offensive person. Who knows if this would cost them their job? I don't. You don't. What if it happens? What if the manager is a big, immature jerk who loves to throw power around by hiring and firing? It happens. Do you think her manager is a sweetie grandmother type who is going to use this info as a nice life lesson for someone she adores and hopes will improve themselves from it? Been outside lately? She didn't spit in food, leave it laying outside, she wasn't mean. It is an all night diner. Can you imagine the crapity crap she heard at 2:00? There are such bigger problems.... My apologies to anyone I offended. You all are awesome and I really need to work a little today but being here is so much fun and you all are wonderful.

IDup that was in response to you, above. I can't seem to understand this quote thing. Anyway, I love Target.

Love those dresses! Do they have enough support for large breasts?

Target has great dresses. I wear maxi dresses everyday. Like the above poster said, I feel like I'm wearing cool, comfortable pajamas but get complimented on the dresses a lot. I started wearing them regularly in pregnancy because I could not wear anything with a waistband because it would give me round ligament pains (even a stretchy waistband - weird). But they are great for postpartum, nursing, and just normal wear. They are not maternity dresses.

ETA: My legs and butt just aren't what they used to be, and find dresses more flattering.
