  1. maybe cook breakfast or find an alternative finish up a wood burning project coffee grocery shopping with a generous friend trek kids to dress rehearsal cook salmon for supper
  2. I never understood denominations that didn't allow dancing. Scripture mentions King David dancing for crying out loud! And I'm SO glad to hear you say you want to learn! I don't know of any specific YouTube videos but I DO recommend starting with beginning ballet. It works everything from the torso down (your core) and is great for improving balance and flexibility. Please don't worry about what your children think. This is for YOU, not them. I know you said you don't have time for a class AND I know that some community centers offer once a week dance classes for adults. It wouldn't hurt to look into what's near you. Plus it's SO much cheaper to take classes at the community theater verses the dance studio! HTH!
  3. The Lounge is now OPEN! Welcome! Note: the Teachers Lounge will be closed November 24-November 28. Spend time with family and/or friends and have a very Happy Thanksgiving! If you are in need of someplace to go for food or fellowship, please PM me and I will help you find that place! It's Wednesday! Whatcha got going on today? Here: besides trekking kids to dress rehearsal, going food shopping! A dear young woman from our church reached out to me last night to make sure we were set for a good Thanksgiving. I told her dh had qualified for some unemployment and that should cover it. She told me we should save that and she would take me out shopping for the food we need! So grocery shopping we go! :driving: What's the most unique dish on your Thanksgiving menu this year? Here: we're not even touching turkey. We're having corned beef paninins (Reuben style). Well, dh and the 2 dc are having corned beef. I'm just having regular beef. Anyone shopping on Black Friday? Here: pretty sure dh and dc will be sleeping. Me, I'll be tagging along with my sister to keep her company. I don't really want/need anything, anyway. Being on a tight budget kind of determines that. The ONE thing I might get IF I see a good deal is the Extension to Settlers of Catan. Talk to me! :bigear:
  4. Thanks! Okay, Lounge is now CLOSED. I do not know yet if I will open the Lounge tomorrow. If I don't, Have a HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
  5. PRAY! And I will also pray for you and with you! My husband was recently laid off as well, and it was about four weeks until he was given a decent offer. And I still don't think it was that decent. But husbands feel they MUST provide for their family and they start to panic when nothing seems forthcoming. Ask your husband if he'd be willing to put off making a decision for ONE week. Then take that time to research for himself the actual COLA: salary versus where you are now. If he still decides to take the job, is there a way he can go ahead of you all while you wrap things up where you are? Including let your son stay where you are so he can get his black belt? Achieving black belt is no easy task and moving to a new dojo WILL require starting over. I don't get that - I'd like to see them cooperate with each other with their students. On that note, maybe your son can research dojos in the new town? Just to see what he can do to transfer instead of them thinking he's brand new. Hope that helps!
  6. My kids groaned when I gave them household responsibilities to do. Seriously? They don't have any school all week and it's not anything I don't normally ask them to do. Now eating lunch of homemade nachos. Then I have a 1:30 phone appointment, followed by wrapping up Directors Gifts, both figuratively and literally. B-)
  7. Get that car inspected! :auto: Okay, now I need to go get dressed and do some other responsible adult things! :blushing:
  8. Good morning! Welcome to the Lounge! What's for breakfast this morning? Here: seasoned turkey patties along with a unique fruit mix (navel orange sections, grapefruit sections, and pomegranate arils (seeds) ). Anyone else having a hard time wrapping their brain around the fact it's almost the end of November? Here: where did the time go?? What's on the schedule for this week? Here: it's Tech Week here (dress rehearsal week). Besides rehearsals and performances this weekend, kids have it relatively easy this week. I have a few other things to get done now that we're not schooling. Talk to me! :bigear: PS Oh, by the way, remember I said hubby was laid off about a month ago? Well, last week he accepted a job offer!
  9. Survive Tech Week. Today: Help put up stage set Eat Lunch order pizza for dinner Pick up part of directors gifts shop for the other gifts remember to take purse with me! sleep
  10. Sounds like we all got SOME things accomplished today. Celebrate that! The Lounge is now CLOSED until Tuesday. I will be too busy Monday to open. See you then!
  11. Okay, went through meal plan for next week. Mostly done as I had planned most of it a few weeks ago. Now just finalizing grocery list! Does anyone else find this kind of thing stressful?
  12. okay, frugalmama, you and I are going to keep each other accountable! Now to go get planning on our meals . . .
  13. Yeah, it's 9am here and I'm sitting at the computer telling myself I need to go do responsible adult stuff. In a few minutes. :glare:
  14. Good morning, all! Anyone else ever wake up several minutes before their alarm goes off? Here: me! Almost all the time! What's on the schedule for today? Here: whatever schooling we can squeeze in. No school here next week due to Tech Week (Dress Rehearsal all week, then Thanksgiving, followed by a 3-performance weekend). Anyone else been slacking on meal planning and your body is complaining? Here: me. For about two weeks now and I can feel it. Time to get on the ball and PLAN my meals again! Talk to me! :bigear:
  15. It's 2100 (9pm) here folks. The Lounge is now CLOSED. See you all tomorrow!
  16. Yeah I've been really slacking in being diligent with Paleo and I'm feeling it! Here's to you and me getting on track and STAYING there!
  17. souvia.com There a local shop where I live. LOVE their teas! Keep in mind, too, that quality loose leaf tea IS better than bagged tea and quality WILL cost more, but is totally worth it! I agree with you, though, on Teavana. Too expensive.
  18. Son and I went to visit friends at the park. Then we had fast food for lunch, before heading over to another friend's house for a pre-planned playdate. Friends weren't home yet from their field trip. As we waited a few minutes, a dull headache I've had behind my eyes for a couple of days began to increase and then my son threw up just outside of the car. We decided to reschedule that playdate. Anyway, neither or us is feeling great this afternoon. Thankfully, he can stay home, not having any responsibilities or outside classes today. Me, I still have things I need to get done. Time to go brew some tea . . . .
  19. I'm glad you felt comfortable sharing here. That's one of the things I like about the WTM community. We are all so different in some ways but accepting of those differences. Meaning, it's okay to have a different opinion and state it, not fearing backlash from those whose opinion differs from yours.
  20. Hello?? (hello . . .hello ...) So quiet in here! B-) Hope you all are having fun today!
  21. I don't really keep up with the Duggars. However, it is her decision. 'Nough said.
  22. Quiet in here today. I've managed to write, and re-write, the first part of my short story. In my head it's kind of fan fiction, with elements of Supernatural, the Flash, and Doctor Who. Officially it's supposed to be a dark mystery, set in Arizona, with part of it happening at night, and must include a murder or potential murder. The writers mind is a warped place!
  23. Happy Thursday! Hope all is well! Today is a busy day here. How about for you? What's your weather forecast? Here: high of 72*F and sunny. I welcome the sun after a couple of cloudy days. We're too used to sunshine here. Overcast days, while a welcome reprieve in the summer, really throw off our schooling and our ability to think clearly! Anyone else get up early to accomplish something before having to start school? Here: I'm about to get started on a short story I'll be submitting for an anthology. Anyone else feel like they could just use ONE day to just REST? Here: me! It's hard for me to not go out and do stuff, though. But I could really use ONE day, away from distractions, to just THINK and plan what needs to be done! Talk to me! :bigear:
