    Spontaneous geology break! My 3yr DS wanted to look at his weekend rock collecting haul. Now all four kids are gathered in his room with magnifying glasses identifying the rocks. I love these moments!

    This has been a rock star week in our homeschool. It has made up for the weeks that we have too many interruptions or struggle with attitudes. Today my 7 year old and I made an electromagnet, hunted around the house for magnetic items, and played around with magnets and iron fillings to explore magnetic fields. We compared and contrasted Velcro and zippers, made lists of common and proper nouns, and interviewed his Grandma for a biography he's going to write. Then we read about pioneers a...
