I think you should reconsider. I would absolutely counter offer, it can't hurt, right? When my husband and I were 19 we knew nothing about buying a house. We found a house that we loved and our realtor advised us to offer $5000 less for the house and ask them to pay part of the closing costs. She told us that the house was slightly above market value. Because of what our realtor told us we expected a counter offer at the very least and were were willing to pay full price for the house if that did happen. Well, the sellers were insulted with our offer and didn't even want to work with us!:mad:That experience put us off from buying a house for 2 years.

I am about to purchase SM and I have the Textbook, Workbook, HIG, and Teacher's Guide in my cart. I've been reading the forum and have noticed that some just have the workbook and some have the text and workbook. Does anyone have all the HIG and Teacher's Guide as well? Did you use these? Are they a waste of money, the HIG at $16.50, and the Teacher's Guide at $21.00? Anyone who just bought the workbook or text and workbook wish that they would have purchase the HIG and TG? TIA!:D

My daughter has a late birthday this month as well. She would be going into 2nd grade but I decided to start late with her and we did K last year instead of 1st. Now this year she is turning 7 and starting 1st and starting WWE 1. I would suggest doing the first week with him and seeing how it goes. You'll be able to tell if he needs more time and if he does you can hold off until the 2nd half of the year. Good luck!

This I have no idea, my library always allows me to copy pages from books. Maybe someone else will know if it's legal. I think it's illegal to copy and sell it.

Do you have any friends that could let you borrow those pages that you need? Maybe you could post on a local homeschool yahoo group to see if anyone has these pages they could copy for you?

I remember everyone saying that the ones at the mall are fakes. I checked with the people working at the kiosks and they are not the My Pillow Pets brand. Also they are much more expensive than online. If anyone sees the advertisement on television take note of the website and post it here, pretty please.

This is exactly what I do. It worked well for us last year. I tried filling them out ahead of time, more like a planner, but we didn't keep to the schedule and I ended up chucking it. So now I just write as I go and don't sweat it if I fall behind or move along faster than expected.

Another vote for the Usborne Internet-Linked Encyclopedia of World History. We bought it early this year and have been readying the pre-history section this summer. Both my dd7 and ds4 enjoy all of the illustrations.

Oh boy, I hope I'll be able to flip through some of these at the bookstore or I'll never be able to decide. They all have such good reviews too!
