  1. We were at Walgreens, if it helps. I don't know if its an official policy or what.
  2. Got my booster today. Mr 8 got his first. One more kid to go - Ms 4, and we will be a fully vaxed family! The pharmacists giving our shots said that 12-15s are eligible for booster shots at 6 months if they have auto-immune conditions. I hadn’t heard that before! So Ms 15 can be boosted next month, and Ms 12 a month later.
  3. Anyone know the latest news on vaccination for the littlest family members? Is your family changing behaviors if you have a little one waiting for a vaccine?
  4. Oh, and our household goods are being delivered on Thursday. So, boxes everywhere!
  5. Update 10/12: Hospital is sending grandma home tomorrow. Her rehab facility stay was a nightmare, and she refused to go from the hospital to another one, which is standard protocol. So they are kicking her out, and she has to come home. She is still being treated for C-diff. She also has a unknown urinary problem and will have a catheter. So we will try to have a home health nurse. It’ll be stressful and chaotic.
  6. I just bought quick-dry towels for this house, in all different colors. The JCPenney ones I bought for our camper are super! The ones I just bought are from Kohls, so I have no idea if they will last. My middle dd needs the reassurance of her own color, and I hope we will have cousins over a lot after covid, so being able to distinguish by color is important.
  7. Would Florastor help her? Should I send some to the hospital, or would they provide that?
  8. Update 10/9: grandma is back in the hospital, transferred from the rehab facility. She got C-diff from the rehab facility. My mom got her transferred back to the hospital yesterday. They told mom & dad the diagnosis today. She is in bad shape and we could use more prayer! Could mom have picked up C-diff from grandma yesterday, while she was sitting with her in the hospital? Should we all be concerned?!? How do we navigate this? We are basically one big extended family unit now.
  9. My two little Shih-tzu/Bichon mixes have been on Royal Canin breed specific dry dog food for a long time. It’s become hard to get and expensive, so I need other brands that are good. No chicken, I think the puppy’s tummy doesn’t like chicken.
  10. I’m just seeing this, and wanted to say I’m praying for your sister, Katie! It sounds terrifying. I hope the MRI is clean and she gets better today.
  11. Anxiety spikes! Our home addition isn’t supposed to be finished until mid-Dec. 😣 We are moving this week into the currently too tiny house, so there has been zero Christmas planning for us. Hopefully I’ll have time to shop and space to hide things!
  12. Thank you all! Mom was able to see her today, and said besides the pneumonia and gout, grandma is looking better. Not as scared anymore, but still wants to get out of there. They had her up and she walked a couple steps today. Please keep thinking of her! Because of visiting restrictions, mom won’t be able to see her again until Tuesday. 🙁

Could mom have picked up C-diff from grandma yesterday, while she was sitting with her in the hospital? Should we all be concerned?!? How do we navigate this? We are basically one big extended family unit now. A dog ran into her knee on Sun and gave her a ‘barely there’ hairline fracture. She’s in her 90s. She couldn’t walk, so the hospital kept her for 2 days and transferred her to a rehab. Mom isn’t allowed inside except by appointment. Very little information is coming from rehab. Appointments are 30 minutes. Grandma called Mom in the middle of last night, saying she couldn’t breathe. Nurses called mom 2 hours later and said she has fluid on her lungs. Grandma has congestive heart failure, diagnosed earlier this year. Mom hasn’t heard from any doctors. Grandma is very scared and wants to come home. But she can’t move by herself, so there isn’t a way to safely have her at the house. I’m scared I’m going to lose her and we are moving there next week. Please pray that she turns around and gets cared for well, and can come home soon. My kids are scared and upset too.
  14. That is fantastic! Congratulations! 🎉
  15. I totally get this. We were “supposed” to have the very first inspection (of the addition) last week, then this week, so the foundation could be poured. Well, it’s Thursday, and obviously NOT going to happen. I doubt we will be in by Christmas, although they keep saying it will be done by mid-Dec. So. Much. Waiting.
  16. Ugh, I saw that yesterday and lamented having to move into this mess! Apparently he was a part of America’s Frontline Drs, and signed the Great Barrington Declaration. He taught at UCLA. He hasn’t been confirmed yet but still issued an emergency order that schools do not have to quarantine asymptomatic close contacts; it’s up to parents to do that, and if they decide to keep them home it’s only for 7 days. Also no tests required unless they develop symptoms. Also reinforced that it’s parents choice whether to mask their kids.
  17. What if there was corn in it? Dd is still freaking out, sigh.
  18. The mixed veggies had peas, carrots, green beans. I don’t know how much they ate. Peter Rabbit is large, about 15 pounds. Buddy Bunny is small, about 5-7 pounds. Buddy doesn’t eat much, and there was a lot left in his cage. Peter loves anything you give him, I have no idea how much he might have eaten.
  19. DH did something without thinking. He gave dd12’s (with anxiety) bunnies frozen veggies that he was cleaning out of the freezer. Some mixed veggies and brussel sprouts. Dd is freaking out!! Please tell me they will be fine!
  20. Good luck! I hope they don’t make you wait too long for the answer!
  21. We are going to share the acreage with my parents, so no chance of visiting first or second. I know this will set a precedent. But sharing the property means walking a line between safety and not restricting access to grandparents. So I cannot forbid my sisters family from ever coming over. I really need cooperation from sis, but unfortunately I just don’t think it will happen.
  22. My mom is asking to arrange a “welcome home/birthday” party for us/me after we move. She would like to rent a water bouncy slide and have my sisters family over, plus a couple other folks. She is proposing keeping everyone outside. My sister and family are anti-mask, anti-vax, very out and about. I think everyone else would be vaxxed. Mom wants my kids to wear a mask. I am pretty sure I will turn her down, but I told her I would think about it, and see if there is a way to do this without risking my kids health. Any ideas? I can see it from her view, as a mom. My niece is ecstatic to see her 3 girl cousins, and my son loves to see my 2 boy nephews. We haven’t been altogether since Christmas 2019. But with 5-11 year vaccines coming soon, I’m not sure it’s worth it. Although my 4 year old will still be unprotected, sigh. 😔
  23. Mom said she and grandma are scheduled to get Moderna, since that’s what they had initially.
  24. I didn’t think so either, but dad works at the hospital, and they are giving “boosters” to those that want them. None of them are immunocompromised. Florida is kinda like the Wild Wild West. Everyone looks out for themselves. 😖
