  1. When my girls were two, they LOVED using craft foam and sticking it onto construction paper. You can get a (I think) 500 piece bucket from Walmart for around $5-$6. I would give them a handful and let them stick away! I would also ask them which letter/number they are sticking and they would tell me.

  2. Both girls stopped napping around age 2ish. They sleep maybe 7-9 hours a night (as my big girl said when she was 3 "I can't turn my brain off!") and are highly active all day long. We do have a one hour quiet time most days when they play or read in their rooms. We had our oldest unofficially tested by the University and she tested HG. Small girl is untested.

My PG dad was a terrible sleeper as in he didn't sleep much.

  3. My big girl has been involved in a "non-animal" 4H group for 2 years now as a Cloverbud. They do cooking projects, a craft and a game each meeting. They show their crafts and/or cooking projects at the fairs. You should google 4H for your area and contact the representative and ask for a non-animal group in your area.

  4. Update - I gave her some pain relief and Grandma held her and I did it. When I pulled the backing, the earring pulled into her ear so I had to push it out. Blood gushed so after getting a towel from inside (we were outside), my mom told me to go back inside because I thought I was going to pass out. I made it to the hallway...then passed out! I think I was half in and out because I started to dream then heard my small girl crying - she had come in and saw me on the floor and panicked - that's when I realized I was on the floor! Anyhoo, it's done and big girl recovered fast and was playing about 10 minutes later. I'm bummed the earring is out and not going back in but I also feel terrible putting through that unnecessary pain!

    Thanks again for the ideas!!

  5. DD7 got her ears pierced about a month ago. A couple of days ago, she thought the one earring stud was falling out and pushed it together. This morning, I noticed it was red then noticed the earring stud was pushed really far into the ear! Like it is embedded into her ear. She completely freaked out when I touched it. I am looking for some ideas on how to pull it out. I'm freezing some water right now to ice it first. But it's a starter stud so it's harder to pull the backing out. Any ideas for the easiest way to pull the backing out? She tried and could not pull it out. I am going to have her try again after icing because she seems to not freak so much if she is doing it.

I also feel horrible that we had her pierce her ears...I cried.

  6. Clearly I don't think your ILs should judge you on what your house looks like. Personally, I like to keep a very clean house and am always on the move making sure it stays that way (and this cuts out "formal" exercise cause it keeps me in great shape!). While I am working in the kitchen, I clean as I go and we do not have a dishwasher.

  7. I can wear chunky sandals with platform heels but I can not wear shoes with those spikey heels. I tried once and spent the evening thinking "heel, toe, heel, toe" so I could walk. Then when we were leaving the event, I stumbled down the steps of the banquet hall and everyone outside got a good laugh because they thought I was the drunk girl. (I was solely drinking diet Coke the entire night!)

  8. I wear just a little make-up. I don't know how to put eye liner on! lol

When I'm tanned in the summer - powder and lip gloss.

When I'm white in the winter - some liquid foundation, a touch of powder, blush and lip gloss.

That's all. Today, I have on powder and chap stick.

Mascara comes in all sorts of colors. I would try to find a subtle color close to your hair color.
