  1. I will make an appointment with a Urologist. I have tried Kegel's in the past, but I am not consistent with them. I googled SUI and did find that the sling surgery looks like a good possibility- Is this the type of surgery you had Faith? If anyone else has any experience with the surgery- I'd love to hear from them. (Pro's/Con's:D) I am going to look into the medication too- but I generally don't like to take medication- especially if it is something that I will have to do on a regular basis to stop the problem. Anyone else have any experience with this?? :)
  2. I really need some btdt advice if anyone has any regarding stress incontinence (see why I hesitated to post:o?). I have had a cold and have been coughing so much that I can't help but realize that I have a problem in this area. I have avoided running and jumping since I first discovered the problem- but the coughing has made me face this problem- and I now want to do something about it. If you have any experience with this- and have sought treatment- could you please share? Thanks! (forcing myself to press submit:o)
  3. You all are the greatest:o! I am 43 today!! Where did the time go? I really appreciate your birthday wishes!
  4. I stayed the same this week. I am ok with that- I was sick last week, so I am glad that I kept off the weight. Congrat's to those of you who are happy with your results, and to those who are less than happy...don't beat yourselves up-you Can do it! Best wishes,
  5. My dh and I are almost licensed in our state so that we may foster/adopt a little girl. We started the process over a year ago, but things have been slowed down a bit by the agency that we are going through. After we are licensed we could have a child placed at any time. The wait here is usually not too long. As far as cost go- they are minimal when you go this route. It is my understanding that most of the "costs" are either reimbursed or they will come back with the tax credit. Another advantage is that the child will be eligible for whatever services that she qualifies for- to be covered until she reaches 18. (medical, therapy, etc.) We are not in this to be a foster home. There are some risks involved, but we will be as informed as we can and we will trust that God knows the best place for the child. That being said I have a friend waiting for her travel date to pick up her "special needs" child in China (she has a small birthmark on her forehead). I have heard that China is now predicting a 3 year delay. I also have friends adopting in the Philippines. The process will take about 2 years total. Other friends are looking into India. That process appears to take under a year. Congratulations on your decision to adopt. There are a lot of options out there, but your heart will tell you which one is right for you and your family! Best wishes,
  6. I am in. I weighed in today at 189.5- but I have been sick for 2 days- so let's hope it sticks;). I started about 3 weeks ago- taking meat and most dairy out of my diet. I started at 202.5. I haven't even shared with my dh my weight:o! I am 6'2 so I begin to look too skinny around 170, but right now I just want to be able to fit into my old clothes without a giant "muffin top". Thanks for this thread! 202.5/189.5/170
  7. It's called All Terrain Brain- and it promotes children's entrepreneurial spirit. It says it's for ages 8-12. http://www.allterrainbrain.org
  8. Thanks for this link Lorna! This website looks great...as does Bethan's cook book!
  9. I am posting this to hopefully become a larvae myself. Did it work??? :D:D
  10. SWB actually did post that she also missed the old format. I am mostly a lurker, so I will miss the ease of checking out posts and replies, but I am sure that I will get used to this format. There are many things that I like about this new forum, and more grow on me daily. It will keep growing on those of us who were more fond of the old format, and soon it will be "old hat". Patience.:D
  11. I am looking forward to hearing her speak...I will be arriving early so I can get a seat!
  12. I am currently using it with my 2nd grade ds. (I must have missed the grade level recommendation:eek:) He isn't bothered by the number of words- and I am very pleased with his progress. He has become a more confident, fluent reader through using it. I have several friends who are using it with their dc in ages ranging from 7-11, and they all are happy with it. I love this program!
  13. I've got a long way to go to be a larvae...but I too have found the server to be busy several times. That will take some getting used to (among other things) :).
  14. So far it's a 3 way tie...It will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings! Btw, I'm 42 (at least for a couple more weeks!)
  15. Could you tell me how you add your blog (in very slow...simple...steps), and how you put your name and not just the link in your signature? I am SLOW!!! Thanks!
