DS asked for a copy of his final in a class, and was told to stop by office hours for a copy. He was allowed to examine the final but not make a copy or photo. I think reason stated was that prof reuses the exam questions. Is this normal? FWIW, this professor has been nothing but amazing, grading and returning (reams and reams) of essays, quizzes, exams (except the final, obviously). Which makes this even more surprising. That and the fact that he has an email stating she would give a copy (but perhaps in all these years no one has asked to see a copy of the final so that put her off guard? I can totally see that). That's been the same policy for both of my kids. My current college uses department-wide, reused exams in the online part, so I can't tell them anything but their score. But some professors do reuse exams (which I think is a terrible idea) and only make them available on a very limited basis, if at all. Pegs Posted February 14, 2018 Share Posted February 14, 2018 We're allowed to stop by during office hours to see our mid-session tests, and in some subjects they're available during the next tutorial as well. We can't take photographs or write out questions and solutions. We never see the finals after handing in our papers.
