SparklyUnicorn
Can anyone recommend a good Python course? Either a book or something on-line? Ideally for someone who has no programming experience. (This would be for me.)
wendyroo
I've been learning a lot from Python for Kids. I'm working through it on my own in preparation for using it with my son next year. Wendy
SparklyUnicorn
That book looks perfect! Exactly what I'm looking for. My son is trying to teach me, but he kinda jumped in the middle. I said you need to back up and tell me what computer programming is exactly. LOL
Lanny
When you are ready for something more advanced, google for Python and free online tutorial or something like that. Here's one link of possible interest: https://www.codecademy.com/learn/python I took a MOOC course (2 weeks) on Canvas.Net in February and there were no problems with their platform. There are other places for MOOC courses.
Wheres Toto
Udemy has a course that regularly goes on sale for $19.99. Dh is doing it right now and it's really long and comprehensive.

terrafirma
I've used How to Think Like a Computer Scientist with my daughter and recommend it as an intro. There is an interactive version of the text (free) here: http://interactivepython.org/runestone/static/thinkcspy/index.html You don't have to create a login for the site, but I think if you do, you can save your work online.
