lisabees
Ending the year with a pop/whiz/bang in the kitchen. Wondering what resources are around these days. I haven't done Kitchen Chemistry in years. I like the looks of Harvard's Haute Cuisine course. DD is reading Omnivore's Dilemma and watching various food documentaries for different perspectives on the food we eat.

kirstenhill
My DD is working through this book: http://www.rainbowresource.com/proddtl.php?id=012177 Some of the math is over her head, but it is good overall.

deerforest
I don't know anything about this except that I remembered seeing it and setting it aside to investigate. http://www.guesthollow.com/homeschool/science/chemistry_highschool/chemistry_home.html Edited April 5, 2016 by deerforest
cintinative
Alton Brown's I'm Just Here for the Food has good info (and good recipes!). Echoing this recommendation. It's a great book.
HollyDay
We've done some kitchen chemistry, cooking, home-ec, nutrition things over the years. Our library has a nice selection of Alton Brown's books. America's Test Kitchen has a book, The Science of Cooking
deerforest
Even more fun, if you can, go to Alton's current tour. It's the 3rd one of his live tours we've seen, and DD has loved them all! This recent one just started, and it's called "Eat Your Science." I count it towards science talks!
