battlemaiden
We can read the less-than-impressive comments and be all the more grateful we homeschool. I found them sadly enlightening. On a positive note, I love that those videos were made, and that they are available free, online, to supplement my teaching! Kim in TN
Aren't the comments horrible? Some people have such filthy mouths. I wish YouTube would put in some type of filter. We like the Schoolhouse Rock videos!

Sebastian (a lady)
Jo, You'll laugh at this. One of the advantages to being overseas with AFN is that they still show Schoolhouse Rock on the AFN Family channel in between shows. I've been known to call my kids in from another room just to watch one of these.

Do they still have the cooking show with the cajun guy. I loved that one. :D Jo
elegantlion
I love school House Rock, we ended up buying the DVD. Ds watches and it's great for those lazy days of school or when they aren't feeling so well. Besides how else are supposed to figure out what a conjunction is without Conjunction Function? klmama
The video site looks good, but I have to say, I was a little disturbed by the Concerta header ad. Doesn't the company know that teachers aren't supposed to diagnose ADHD or recommend meds to families? Yeesh!
Sebastian (a lady)
Oh lisa! You have just flooded me with memories! I remember AFN and their select of programming. Do they still have the cooking show with the cajun guy. I loved that one. :D Jo They have The Grill Sargeant, (appearing in the San Diego commissary) and his band The Taste Buds. I swear if we end up in SD that the kids and I are going to go and watch a taping. My six year old is a big fan. You know, I thought that I'd find the AFN selection annoying or boring, but there is plenty of brain candy and I don't miss the horrible commercials at all. lotsofpumpkins
My kids received the DVD for Christmas. They love to set it to "The Whole Enchilada" and watch every single song. We've all learned quite a bit from it!
shea
but my kids will not watch them anymore. They complain they get the songs stuck in their heads (which I thought was the whole point of the videos:glare:). Sue
