Chris in VA
A large white woman. Who doesn't own a princess dress. Who will NOT dress up as an animal. Any ideas? PS--It's for Friday for preschool, and I don't sew.

Renthead Mommy
Mother Hubbard - wear pretty much whatever and take a stuffed dog. You can make sugar cookies cut out to look like dog bones. ETA - Opps, she's Mother Goose, not a fairy tail. Tap
Girl characters I can think of Goldie locks (I don't know how to spell that) Cinderella Little Red Riding Hood Sleeping Beauty Snow White ...a dwarf Peter Pan Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz may count depend on how literal you mean for fairy tale. Rapunzel ETA here is a list of fairy tales...maybe it will stir something in you http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fairy_tales Edited February 4, 2009 by Tap, tap, tap

happi duck
Red Riding Hood...regular clothes, red cape, basket you should be able to fashion a cape of sorts out of some red fabric...or find a red, round plastic table cloth and cut from one edge to the center (neither of these would have a hood but I think that would be fine) HTH
Tabrett
Puss in boots- all you need is cat ears a tail, hat and boots. Draw whiskers on your face.
Amber in SJ
Rapunzel- 2 large pieces of posterboard, worn sandwich board style, colored/painted to look like a stone tower. A long yarn braid attached to a ponytail holder to attach to hair. Let yarn braid fall over shoulder and down the front of "tower" This is a Halloween costume I have seen at our co-op.
