You see, I use the Elements of Style by Strunk and White. I had it when I was in college. I used it as my handbook. I also have a book by Random House called Correct Grammar and Usage (I think). They are both very tiny books that fit in your pocket. However, they are very informative thorough and explain every grammar usage in the English language.

I agree, Elements of Style is great. I also own the following to help with writing: Writing: A Concise Handbook, The Way to Write by Rudolf Flesch (McGraw Hill 1947) and When Words Collide by Laura Kessler et al.

 

What's nice about these is that you get some at flea markets, library sales or freebies.
